Or the second coming of the Tombstones (Lighthouse) buildings....
I don't want to write off this whole block of the waterfront but, I'm not an optimist. (heck, I usually am not)
Oh, I read that wrong. Yes, I found the lighting here rather odd...it was throwing me off when I visited, unless the lights were off and I was seeing things.
It was borderline dangerous prepandemic, and now it's really a nightmare to cross IMO. There's no real sense of order when no crossing guards are present.
Yesterday...it blows me away to see how crowded out and well, dwarfed this tower is now. This is not a short building, at least in my eyes...and was a decent filler, but taller building on this stretch of Redpath for years. (but this blended in nonetheless)
Yesterday...there's something about this complex and podium in particular that feel a little dystopian or, almost neo-brutalist, but that's not an apt descriptor in my view of the presence of these buildings, alongside 100 Broadway.
Hey, you're practically writing their marketing campaign! Remember the temporality of time and space? Why not live in the luxurious depths of it in Time and Space!
I find fog a treat in Toronto, something that doesn't occur a whole lot except in a few select months of year, and only for a short period. These were taken on Sunday, which was a rainy, cloudy day. (Yonge and Eglinton roughly)
From that same day I uploaded my last post.(Sunday evening)
The fog combined with the dimming lighting conditions due to the sun setting made for some interesting plays here with contrast and form.
