GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Why don't you read what you wrote lol...in jest, maybe a subway to my house! :) Just to compare current state, it's about 1hr Kennedy Go to Oshawa Go. 45 from Scarborough to Oshawa. Points north can catch go busses along the 401/407. Are you really saving much time? Maybe if you hit transfers...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

This confuses me. It wouldn't even abut any property... Any section that does, is already paved (around the playground).

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

A path is an understatement. Just make sure to wash your bike after this one as it can get a bit mucky. I ride it anytime I take the waterfront trail, and it's also recommended route when I navigate...on a mbt of course :) Still not as bad as the trails immediately west off Brimley...

    The Meadoway, 200ha

Probably because it's unfinished There were a couple of times last year I had to double back from Morningside Park and up to Ellesmere (via Morningside) as they closed the entire site off... Painful detour.... Openstteetmaps is the way to go here for navigation with Komoot and the like if you...

    The Meadoway, 200ha

I've ridden this a handful of times last year. It's actually unfinished further West your arrow up top where there is coarse gravel & stone (nearly impossible to ride on). You can see the transition to gravel from asphalt just beyond the bridge in the picture prior to this. This is also a...

They also didn't accept any cards last time I was there... Cash only? Was taken aback.

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

Well we're stuck with 1.6 percent increase in funding (versus 2) for the year. Pickering councillors Brenner and Cook tried to even get it to 3 percent but lost it 26-2. Nice to know there is advocates for good service but they'll have to work to get support...

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

The sunshine list is out. Interesting that both the OPG CEO and CS(strategy)O salary were over the cap of $1.5 million imposed on Hydro one by the Ford government. Top 5: From here.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

I will also add that some are switching to electricity to heat homes with heat pumps - they are simply more efficient. Enbridge and the feds put up rebates for those to switch - those programs have already wound down, because the money was all used up. Source

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

I wonder if the provincial Tories on Ontario will remove the current subsidy (they have suspended the provincial gas tax until end of year) to time close to the election and then blame increase on the carbon tax to out the pressure on the feds. It may just be a strategy that works... I'd bet...

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

I was there at Bay for just under an hour. Everyone I saw was civil and wasn't as bad as some loud voices make out to be on socials. There were announcements and boards indicated everything so I'm not sure what else people want from this. Not every little inconvenience needs to be a drama show.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

There are several journalistic sources that you can search...but I put a question mark because I was unable to validate. I believe the original report that cites the 80 percent portion is the Fiscal and Distributional Analysis of the Federal Carbon Pricing System (Parliamentary Budget Office...

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

I would argue more so on home energy (heating fuel) bills where, at least in Enbridges' case, is a seperate line item on the bill. Gas (automobile) prices are not too dissimilar prepandemic. Perhaps more of a failure of communication and perception that the carbon charges are fueling...

    Hudson's Bay Company

I'm going to add a personal story here to add to my frustration with this store. I had been looking for a small dining room set, and found one I liked which had boxing day sale for about $3600. To my surprise, it was on sale in February for less than $2000. I had it arranged for delivery on a...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It's much harder to yell at someone who is sitting across the table. I've rarely seen hecklers at public meeting events that are divided into breakout groups or station-like information boards with involved parties able to answer questions 1on1. It completely avoids this nonsense performative...
