Managed to finally catch the other retro bus at the 150th anniversary open house today. Great event. Not many photos from inside the facility unfortunately as their legal department advised against it. Scored a free commemorative Presto card as well and bought some postcards.

I saw a graphic that ranked streetcar speeds across several cities. Toronto was dead last. We are lucky to have our vast streetcar network, but those in charge have no idea how to properly run things anymore. Other cities prove fast operation is possible.

Push-button operated. Both vehicles have doors supplied by Ventura Systems.

TTC Open House to support the United Way.

This makes sense I guess. I haven’t used the wifi since they introduced mobile service on the subway. I wonder if that’s the end of wifi on select buses as well.

New electric buses begin route shadowing with an existing electric bus today.

This is kind of related: the stop at Charlotte Loop has a bunch of inactive routes, but it doesn’t have signage for the 503. The TTC website and transit apps list it as a stop for the 503, but streetcars actually go out of service at Spadina and don’t pick up again until Peter.

And again: he would know that if he actually used the system. The disconnect is wild. They absolutely need to hire people in charge that actually use the system. That should be a qualification.

When they were in the Bay Concourse, they used to. Even in bags, if I remember correctly. The new space in the subway station is much smaller, though.

The BYD artics in Los Angeles don’t inspire much confidence. I don’t know what was wrong with them, but it took them around 2 years to go into service.
