    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Are all people in Leslieville uninformed? I'd say many of them are quite informed, which is why it's hard to accept the previously approved plan was being shelved under the guise of cost savings when the government is spending billions upon billions to bury transit in suburban areas of the city...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

That's the problem. No surprise Metrolinx is getting so much resistance from some communities.

Go with me next time you'll have an amazing view.

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Given how quickly we seem to tire of stadiums, I'd rather it not be located on the Portlands. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how pouring hundreds of millions into the current venue will only result in 10-15 more years. I feel like the place still has a lot of life left in it.

    What makes it weaker?

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'm glad there's progress being made on transit, but it's hard to ignore that a much further along Relief Line plan with higher capacity was canceled in favour a new plan. It's also hard to ignore that the Eglinton West LRT, YNSE and SSE were all in planning when he took over, with the Eglinton...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Which is exactly why they wouldn't use this line to travel from Scarborough to Mississauga. That's not what it was ever intended for. It's a local Toronto line, very much like Bloor-Danforth.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I was wondering if this was a 'real' groundbreaking as the line still seems in the planning stages. Seems like it's primarily a pre-election photo-op for Ford and Tory.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I don't think that was ever the goal of this project. How many people would travel from STC to MCC? How many people travel from Kipling to Kennedy on any sort of consistent basis?

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Agreed. I'd also add the King Streetcar program has really increased speed and reliability with a few simple (and relatively affordable) changes. I don't doubt that in the future there changes that can be made to increase the speed of the LRT that shouldn't be exorbitant in cost.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'm not sure why people assume this line was meant for crosstown travel. I think the name "Crosstown" references the length of the line rather than it's intended primary usage.

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Agreed, hard to see them make this kind of investment if they want a new stadium in 10-15 years. I think there's still plenty of life left in the place, especially after these major renovations.

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

Sounds silly, but if it's already going to the airport why not?

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

The GO corridor serves different a different audience. I don't necessarily mind this plan, but I think the OL heading north on Dundas or even Jane would address a clear need, especially with the growth projected in those areas.

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

I meant it would use the GO Corridor until Kipling then branch off.

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

Looks like the province would like to extend the line to Kipling and then to the airport: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-ontario-unveils-transportation-plan-including-a-proposed-transit-line/ I imagine it would continue using the GO corridor until it headed north to the...

I wonder if Ford will announce a new, earlier launch date for the Election Line.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

We can't do that. I've heard LRTs are not proper rapid transit. ;)

    Hudson's Bay Company

No surprise here. It's seemingly been neglected for years. I will miss the access though - and the lack up updates does give it kind of a nostalgic vibe. Excited to see what they can come up with for the location! I looks like a demoliton and rebuild is possible, which could have the added...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Hard to disagree with the article. Unfortunately it's the norm for Metrolinx. I'm curious, what about his actual argument do you disagree with?
