    King West

Looks like it might be a gym? Unless this permit is for a new gym for Hyatt Also unrelated to Hyatt, the former Aroma spot North East of King and Charlotte is going to be a Chipotle.

    Toronto The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

Just came across this application for a restaurant called, BOHCA. Not sure if that's an acronym for a previously announced restaurant.

    Toronto 400 King West | 157.37m | 48s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

Unless there's news I missed, I think it'll be many many years till 388 King West gets built, at least in its current commercial/retail form. 411 King West would also add some variety to this stretch of King but that's been dormant even longer I believe.

    Toronto Maverick | 154.53m | 49s | Empire | Arcadis

This feels like the first time in a decade where the south sidewalk on King between John and Spadina has been scaffold-free and uninterrupted

    Toronto Peter and Adelaide | 152.39m | 47s | Graywood | BBB

Started seeing equipment on the second floor retail unit. Really hope BestCo isn’t planning to put all the refrigeration up against the windows!

    Toronto 400 King West | 157.37m | 48s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

Lot of similarities between this and Theatre District, not surprising as they’re both Plaza BDPQ projects, so I expect the tower cladding to be similar too

    Toronto 357 King West | 148.13m | 42s | Great Gulf | BDP Quadrangle

This joke is played to death, if you can’t make a decent meal with a 4 burner stove and oven you’re just telling on yourself. Its not like this is Smart House on Queen W Source

    Toronto Alias | 160.52m | 48s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

No I’m referring to the grey spandrel and this will be another mess like Madison’s other cheap tower, Nobu

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

From the current database photos it looks more like a simple staircase, though perhaps these are outdated.

Which street is this? I can't find a Garrison Park north of King or is that a local name for Stanley Park North?

Did they close that slide down!?

    Toronto Ontario Line: Queen-Spadina Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx | HDR

Coincidentally I was just watching videos on the new Sydney Metro and was struck by how beautiful their stations and platforms are. There are some similarities to Ontario Line but their system looks truly world class. This video does thorough walkthroughs of the new stations opening in August...

    Toronto Ontario Line: Queen-Spadina Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx | HDR

Passengers need to ride FIVE sets of escalators to get to platform level? Those elevators are going to be extremely popular.

I also went and tried the Aburi sushi stall. Had salmon torched sushi, $20 for 6 pieces, which was quite decent. Also had a tuna and spicy salmon temaki (a sort of sushi hand roll?) for $6.50 each. These reminded me off the onigiri snacks you could get anywhere in Japan where the packaging...

    Toronto Bike Share

It does but only for non-members. I wish it have the option for annual pass holders to also rent additional pay-as-you-go bikes for visitors/friends

I wonder if we’ll also be getting these new docks considering NYC also use PBSC/Lyft. If we do I hope we keep the 3 digit code unlock and have a more robust locking mechanism than what we currently have. Also noticed a lot of docks with fully rusted bases, but short of changing the materials...

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Going to be hilarious if we eventually see ourselves with a 20m shack somewhere in the boonies with The One's leftover cladding.

I’ll forgive Toronto Hydro if they start practicing Kintsugi with our sidewalks.

Gosh you’re right. If only there was some asymmetry to draw visitors eyes to some unique architectural element, maybe like a sculptural glass staircase!
