How high are the chances of the sealant between the glass blocks to fail and leak? What does long term maintenance look like for glass like this?

They had the same light stands up on the mezzanine level during the winter (believe there were different colours too) and they were removed in Spring. You can see the movable light stands in your photos. Really wish they would’ve incorporated permanent lighting all year round. Update: Saw...

Scaffolding is down, is that the final envelope or is that just weatherproofing?

They should mark the milestone by being the first to break 328m ;)

I love our little Beef Wellington building

Yes! Finally some movement! 😍 Also my eyes might be deceiving me but these three new panels look like a different colour than the original three test panels in the back.

Is this 5 escalators/flights to get to platform level?

The podium has already been hit with one dose of reality, wonder what else they’ll VE next. Shame really though, loved the initial render, so much more expressive.

Beautiful shots as always! Though I think someone may have stolen your shots on Reddit!

I’m no expert, but after following a few KingSett threads, my understanding is this will never be built in its current form.

Ground floor retail has now been leased. Looks like a health food/smoothie spot from the same people that run the ‘boozy brunch’ spot The Morning After. The second floor unit with the terrace is still up for lease. There’s also two other units across the street in 8 Mercer that’s been leased...

I think 8 Mercer also has painted precast and it's held up for the last 8 years.

So glad they actually bring the brick structure down to the ground level. To other developers, look! You can have floor to ceiling glass while still providing visual support for the podium. Please stop with the 5 story faux-brick cube floating on glass tippy toes.

Wow, I used this tunnel to get to the Dom Dolla show at the amphitheatre and didn't even realize it was new and/or supposed to be permanent infrastructure. Just thought it was temporary during OL construction. We really lack civic pride to build brand new public infrastructure like this.

The city actually heard how much we like old European cities but brought us back to a time before paved roads existed

Interesting, can someone with more knowledge correct my assumptions: Are they doing this because they expect to renovate the 1 Queen St East in the next decade or is it more likely they're looking to sell that asset?

Now that would be an open concept floor plan

I was getting mighty jealous of the new parts of the Sydney Metro… but if Ontario Line sticks to quality materials I’ll be a tad less jealous.
