Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

There have been many stories I can remember of people in Toronto complaining about noisy jets from Pearson. Off the top of my head residents of Markland Woods and around Downsview have complained, and there are various people who have complained about the noise from Air Canada's Airbus jets...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

You should check out Lawrence West, it makes Islington look like it's pristine.

    Toronto Y&S Condos | 130.77m | 38s | Tribute | Graziani + Corazza

Tribute truly knows how to make iconic trash.

    Toronto Quay House | 73.15m | 21s | Empire | Kirkor

Just another reason why most of our waterfront is a world-class embarrassment (except for the few slivers that Waterfront Toronto is keeping the city from ruining, and from York to Spadina).

    Hamilton Columbia Student Residence | 85.85m | 25s | Effort Group | KNYMH

Completely agree with everything you've said here. This is absolute gutter trash to the fullest extent. Every single aspect of this project as proposed is an abject failure of basic planning principles.

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

Why do I get the feeling that they are going to go with Option 2.... The very thought of that makes me shudder.

    TTC: Major Operational Issues (Various)

As per usual, they cant stick to any kind of a schedule. Nothing has changed in 2 weeks, so much for those promised timelines: Oct 2, 2024

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

Not implying that they did, but you make a major deal like that you have to be able to handle the risks associated with it. No one was putting a gun to CF's head to acquire the site in it's entirety, or at all.

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

While you're not wrong, it's not our fault that Cadillac Fairview decided to take the risk and acquire the site from Great Gulf while full well knowing the obligations here. The city should stick to their guns here.

    Toronto IMMIX | 131.06m | 38s | QuadReal | a—A

^Yeah no, sorry I dont buy it. Maybe try and reduce the rent you're charging first before attempting to get yourself out of converting the space. While they do need to make money on the space, they've already lost a lot just by leaving it vacant with those nasty rental rates anyways. The...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Dont worry you're not going to see the name "Line 5" on the LRVs themselves". Their destination signs are programmed to read: "Eglinton to Mount Dennis --> vers Mount Dennis; or Eglinton to Kennedy ---> vers Kennedy" So you'll still get your merry way with that.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It's nothing, dont read into it. Elections Ontario is completely separate from government, and doesnt run like those "arms-length agencies". Technically it's part of the legislature. They typically start hiring 1+ year ahead of any provincial election, and as the next one is scheduled (as of...

    Toronto Ontario Line: Riverside-Leslieville Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

Ah so that explains that massive steel girders I saw rolling on trucks eastbound on Lake Shore today. These beams are huge, I dont have any pictures unfortunately but I saw them on oversized truck trailers heading over to this site.

    Toronto Q Tower | 197.4m | 59s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Lifetime really needs to get out of here with this proposal.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If it were me, i'd disqualify WestEx since they involve 2 firms with the current Crosstown mess (Aecon, and AtkinsRéalis -aka SNC Lavalin), and Trillium Rail since it involves the walking disaster firm known as Acciona. That's unless of course, Metrolinx wants the Crosstown West to be delayed...

    TTC: Major Operational Issues (Various)

Not much new compared to what Steve Munro has reported, but at least the TTC is finally acknowledging what we've known for months (although one can argue with the quote below). The media is picking up it with more depth: "We’re not getting better, we’re not getting worse"...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

Another instance of the TTC going forward with buses (NovaBus eBuses) which very well prove to be lemons due to unnecessary pure political pressure and lofty aspirations. We already had a CNG mess, a hybrid-electric mess, and now a potential eBus mess if the NovaBus' do not perform well. They...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

I would report this to 311. From my experience they're pretty good at getting things like this taken care of. I've reported sinkholes forming in roadways before, and crews were sent out few weeks after my reporting.

St. Anne's Anglican Church (St. Annes, ?s, ?)

Did they ever release/find the cause of this very sad fire?
