Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

If it was John Tory, he probably would've sold off multiple city properties for cents on the dollar in exchange for the various things we've gotten out of the province to date. I'll certainly admit, it's impressive what we've been able to get from Doug.

    Toronto Kipling Station Condos | 159.6m | 50s | CentreCourt | B+H

Nice finds, I was generally curious to see if anything like it existed in the city, and it appears we do. I'm 90% confident that this development would be the tallest building that's immediately adjacent to a hydro corridor in the city proper once it's completed.

    Toronto Long Branch Tower | 143.4m | 43s | Toronto Standard | Studio JCI

@Northern Light went into some good detail into breaking down your short-sighted commentary and took the time out of his very busy day to do so. So since you felt the need to make a short-sighted comment, here's what i'll say. 1) Nice try, but no I am not a NIMBY or anywhere close to being...

    Toronto House of Assembly | 61.85m | 17s | Marlin Spring | Graziani + Corazza

This is by far Marlin Spring's best build by a country mile, i'm very surprised they executed anywhere close to good stuff here. I'll give credit where credit is due, this is a good one. Now only if they could take this and replicate it among the rest of their underwhelming and sad portfolio...

    Toronto Long Branch Tower | 143.4m | 43s | Toronto Standard | Studio JCI

Umm well this is quite...excessive i'd say. Way too excessive actually. Nothing in a even comes remotely close to this in height in a 2km+ radius. The next closest would be those towers across from Sherway Gardens, or the cluster of towers by Humber Bay. I know the area extremely well, and...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

Actually I think the year 3035 is quite an appropriate timeline for this project at this point.

    Toronto The Whitfield | 130m | 39s | Menkes | Giannone Petricone

Which makes me curious because generally speaking, newer builds are almost always generically built anyways (those built in the past 20 years) while older builds are the ones more likely to have varying colours per se. So of course it would make sense that blander colours sell stronger, because...

    Toronto The Whitfield | 130m | 39s | Menkes | Giannone Petricone

It's amazing how much this already standsout from virtually every other building in the area. Your eyes are just immediately drawn to it and it's easily identifiable. Similar to the conversation above about the painted precast brick panels, does it really cost a developer a significant sum more...

    TTC: Major Operational Issues (Various)

New slow zone added, eastbound Kipling to Islington. Will all this week's early closures and weekend closures between Kipling and Keele rectify the issue? Knowing the TTC i doubt it, but miracles do exist: Nov 5, 2024

    Toronto Pinnacle Etobicoke | 137.76m | 43s | Pinnacle | Turner Fleischer

Hopefully it stays this way until common sense gets to Pinnacle and they re-work this atrocious plan.

    Toronto Kipling Station Condos | 159.6m | 50s | CentreCourt | B+H

I've always thought it's crazy to build a high-rise to this degree immediately adjacent to a hydro corridor. Is there anywhere in the city where we have a tower so close to a high-voltage power line? I cant think of any place that comes to mind.

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

C'mon now, it wouldnt be Toronto unless we paid respects to our history of nice cold and sterile grey. My guess is that they will be grey stone like this: Or this:

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 283.6m | 85s | Menkes | a—A

What makes the timing of all this even more weird is that Freeland St is supposed to be undergoing watermain replacement next year. I really dont get the timing with all of this...

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 283.6m | 85s | Menkes | a—A

Judging by the pipes and those steel objects, it looks like this is for new utility/watermain work. Question is, is it for the Downes Rd extension? On a side note, Freeland St is supposed to undergo watermain/sewer rehabilitation work next year so maybe it relates to connecting to that as well.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Which is funny and unfortunate because Metrolinx seems bent on confusing everyone in general with their local station naming schemes by having multiple stations named after each other (ie: Eglinton- Hurontario LRT, Eglinton GO, Eglinton- Yonge Line). Not to mention the corporate station naming...

They did, and as a part of that they removed directional references in a lot of signage in favor of "destination signage" (ie: 1- Vaughan via Union).

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

On a separate note, it looks like it's going to be a busy weekend for myself. There's another survey out, this one for a new TTC wayfinding standard: https://www.ttc.ca/riding-the-ttc/Updates/TTC-developing-a-new-Wayfinding-Strategy-to-help-enhance-customer-experience Maybe we can finally get...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Service is certainly getting to the point where it's an absolute abysmal mess on certain routes for no ryhme or reason whatsoever asides from the TTC's own incompetence and inability to line manage. There have been multiple times where I've waited 10 mins for a Yonge/University Line train from...

    Toronto 250 Dundas West | 189.75m | 58s | Dream | Arcadis

Completely agree with @Northern Light on his thoughts here, this park space is completely useless and it should be off site. I'd rather them expand the footprint of this building to fit in another elevator so it's less of a cattle herd situation. Also I had a good laugh out of this here...
