    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I can't wait for this to be done! Took the 34 from Bayview to Vic Park the other day and the lane reductions around Laird made for some pretty awful traffic. Past Don Mills though, things are looking mostly done. A bit of landscaping and line painted to go, but it's really close. Out at Kennedy...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

The updates last weekend were pretty good! Payment processing has been totally overhauled from the dismal pile of crap that it was to something pretty decent. You can see what the last 4 digits of your saved credit card is now (FINALLY).

Looks to be on the patio at the MTCC. I think that is the fencing there. Apple Maps look around:

Taken today (April 22, 2022): Much less activity on site of late now that the bulk of the earth moving seems to be done. And a bonus 180º Pano view: https://www.skypixel.com/photo360s/remotemediafile-6553700-26-2022-04-22-17-00-32

Finally some decent weather enabling a birds-eye view of the site. Also there is a sales centre going in at the FreshCo plaza. Drone shots taken on Feb 21, 2022.

The transitdocs site grabs data every so often (five minutes?) while the VIA site is grabbing data every few seconds.

    Sidewalk plowing

We have no sidewalks in Scarborough at the moment. The plows pushed massive piles onto the sidewalks and homeowners are faced with an impossible task. Even teh sidewalk plows can't push through. Snow removal is needed in a lot of areas, but Toronto has never been good at that. Even the "snow...

    Sidewalk plowing

It's a drag out in Scarborough with our monolithic sidewalks. You shovel, the street plow comes and obliterates the sidewalks you just cleared. Then you shovel that again and the sidewalk plow comes down and makes another mess you have to dig out.

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

I'll submit that banning right turn on red would do more for pedestrian safety in Ontario (and Toronto) than most other measures. A trip to Montreal in the summer was quite the eyeopener. I didn't have to worry at every single intersection as a runner that I was about to get run down by an...

    Toronto Birchley Park | 46.2m | 12s | Diamond Kilmer | TACT Architecture

Taken November 20, 2021. Lots going on recently with clear cutting and grading. Personally, I'm missing walks and runs through this area...it's sad to see our little bit of wild green space go.

Those two-segment mini streetcars in the render are a hoot.

The trees are in planters just like house plants. Just really big versions. Waterproofed, with drainage and such to contain the roots and keep that all separate from the building beneath it.

Would having the crane punching a hole through the transfer slab impact the structural integrity in anyway? Is the crane positioning factored into the engineering of these kinds of buildings or can it be assumed that once the hole is later filled that it's as good as it would have been without?

LCBO opened this week. Nice addition to our neighbourhood. No more heading up to the Danforth one.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

The requirement to keep the vaccine super chilled (at least until the Moderna one is more widely available) is an issue in your plan. Getting the vaccine out to those offices at -80º is a challenge, never mind storing it at the office.

    VIA Rail

Likely there isn't a lot of demand for Toronto to northern Ontario or Winnipeg (especially via train) while it is reasonable to use the train between cities west of Winnipeg. It's also clear they don't want this to be a "tourist" train for the time being. No Park Car service, likely no access to...
