    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

This really cannot be said enough times. It feels it ought to be obvious, but it's really lost on the casino proponents.

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

I canvassed for an NDP candidate. Condos are easy. Usually a friend in the building will let us in. If not, I watched one (more experienced canvasser) just hit all the buzzer buttons . We were usually in within a few seconds. And it was nice; less walking, and warm.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Well, since he's currently (according to him) running for leadership of the Conservative Party; MPP; Mayor; and leadership of the Provincial conservative party, I think it's pretty fair to ignore him.

Ford lost. Sorry. You keep trying to use him as some sort of boogey man.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I don't know if you know this, but Ford lost the last election. That sort of means we don't have to pretend he won.

    Google Maps: Toronto in 3D!

It's a car auction site. I don't know whose (I worked for a company that did that, and it is not one of theirs).

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

By "absorbs" you mean "raises other fares to accommodate", right?

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

You might be joking, but I'm not sure I understand what's wrong with that idea.

    New Transit Funding Sources

The problem with this line of thinking is that, if we indulge in it, we may as well just elect Doug Ford.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Yeah, I'm in the west end(ish). If someone replaced my 5km commute with a 23km commute for political reasons, I would simply find a new job. Which would cost my employers enough that it would take years to decades to make up the difference in rent, and I'm not THAT well paid. That's going to...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

So, like, actual journalists showed up and covered this? Are they waiting for the bars to open so they can think about how badly their careers have gone?

    Black Lives Matter Toronto

    I'm pretty sure they are.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I suspect that's 5:15 pm. That is about the worst time to try to board the Yonge line north bound. Waiting three trains before being able to board is not surprising. The trains have longer dwell times because of all the people trying to cram onto them, and the one at Bloor will be delayed as...

Plans to fill in Allen Road

Wait a second. Why don't we tunnel for the Allen, and then use that as a venue for the games, and then turn it into a toll road? Private companies would be lining up to finance this. The city would make a fortune. The revenue from the games could be used to build the DRL, the Line 2...

    New Transit Funding Sources

One assumes that going private does not preclude having a union, though, right?

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

We do deal with shut downs of street cars on a pretty regular bases for massive amounts of track work. This is something downtown does deal with (and, no, someone coming in from, say, Liberty Village doesn't really have a lot of options). So, deep down, no, I really don't know that. Please...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Yeah, 3 years would suck...but if it got rid of never ending weekend closures, and cut way down on the "Due to signal related problems..." issues, I could see a pretty strong case being made. And it if we're something like, say, a major upgrade to Yonge/Bloor (which I don't currently have to...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

So, what 6 contiguous kilometres of stops have that low a level of boarding? That's what, Keele to Christie?

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Uh...as for tone, have you read your fellow subway proponents posts? As for spending: do you have anything that shows spending per capita in Scarborough vs the old city of Toronto?
