Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Oh man the TTC almost voted against reaffirming the McCowan alignment until it passed 6-4 on a 2nd vote.

Metrolinx: Sheppard East LRT (In Design)

Interesting that eastbound "talk" is now about reaching McCowan even though that routing was rejected back in the 90s (more jobs along Progress I believe). Also interesting is that as part of the Metrogate development agreement Tridel had to donate land to the city for Agincourt station should...

In some defense of Murray, Toronto's chief planner did say that the RT route had more development potential. Though this puzzles me since it's mostly industrial land that the city really wants to hold on to and it's not really expandable beyond it's current state.

For now it looks like the province is standing its ground. From today's Hansard:

It's funny how the TTC report does say the SRT alignment is technically feasible after all the talk about how it wouldn't be.

The full $660m - guess I better eat my hat for doubting it.

Well I'll be damned, I didn't expect the feds to come through. I wonder how much they pledged though. Murray's made himself the biggest fool here. Now we have a prov government and Metrolinx supporting one alignment and the city and feds another all on the assumption that he province was the...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Who the hell knows anymore? It's pretty clear the city's current support plan will revert to the LRT at the end of the month and I would argue there's a slim chance of council endorsing Murray's current alignment. Yet, the province keeps saying it wants to go it alone (while still expecting the...

The article reads like he could mean extra station within the 6.4km new route. I hope and assume that not what's meant but like all transit planning these days its seems that nothing is clear.

I assume its been known for a while that the smaller tower is no longer having the cantilevered pool?

It's awkward when Steve Munro agrees partly with me. http://torontoist.com/2013/09/how-not-to-announce-a-subway/

There's an approved zoning by law for an office building in the vacant land there that was to connect with Leslie but Canadian Tire decided against moving their offices at the time.

I still think the optics would have been better having the time run out on Ottawa coming to the table rather than just walking away from the table. Also why do I constantly see people stating that Ford/Stintz/Council haven't put a cent on the table? The money wasn't a lot and it was conditional...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

It's incredulous that Murray would come up with this plan when there's still weeks before the Sept 30 deadline. Chances were always slim that the feds would pay up but now be have a precedent of not even bothering to to hear from the feds (even if it was a refusal). Ottawa already doesn't seem...

Can't really help you but someone told me the same thing but I know as much as you do. At least now you know you aren't imagining things.

Well like I said the Liberals got themselves into a corner by touting the subway so much during the by-election.

Bad street presence seems to be the norm for suburban mixed use buildings. It's as if they decided to make the signage as small as possible.

    Discontinuous streets

Toronto (York) itself has two systems for concessions: from the bay & west/east of Yonge. So to begin with you have land concessons from Queen<-->Bloor (Concession 1 FTB), Bloor<-->St.Clair (Concession 2 FTB), St.Clair<-->Eglinton (Concession 3 FTB). Then from north of Eglinton, Yonge St...
