I'm surprised Filion is so opposed to the density of this that he won't let it even get past the preliminary stage. That said the secondary plan for the area is idiotic considering there's a subway underneath the street.

    New Transit Funding Sources

Which is why I said the statement was true. I'm just cynical that this unnecessary panel that was created by Wynne because she knows transit taxes are going to be a hard sell happens to make a point on the main argument the opposition is making.

    New Transit Funding Sources

There also seems to be a bit of politics involved. Notice how the panel pointed out that efficiencies won't pay for transit. It's true that won't pay for the Big Move but it looks like a dig at Hudak when the panel is supposed to be independent. It's a grey area because the statement is true.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The project twitter page posted a pic of them removing old steel beams from the old Eglinton West subway line.

Every Ford policy isn't going to just magically fade away with him gone. Even with Ford's base weakened it would still take a 2/3 vote to overturn anything in the short turn and these policies aren't just Ford's but a majority of council's.

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

It seems strange for there to be such a fluctuation in the ridership at Bessarion (almost +25%) when the area hasn't yet undergone any real change. It's in line with the ridership levels over the last few years but there shouldn't be such a large variance from one year to the next.

TTC: New Articulated Buses (In Delivery, Novabus)

Just saw a training bus running on Leslie. No time to snap a picture though.

I've found that EA's pretty much just confirm what was already desired. If I had to guess the province will work hard on trying to prove the numbers work better for the SRT alignment so that it would be hard to argue for the McCowan route. It could very well be that the SRT route is superior but...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

One EA looking at alternative routes I imagine as per the usual EA process. I'm not all that familiar with EA's though I know there's some sort of expedited EA process that transit that I guess this won't follow.

Metrolinx said the same thing in a letter before the vote so it's not really a surprise.

If anything puts the SELRT closer to death was the auditor's report on the gas plants that came out today. Then again the Libs have managed to stay ahead in the polls up until now even with all their troubles.

Was the 14k peak ridership figure ever debunked? I see in mentioned in reports but no one ever talks about it.

    TTC: Customer Service

I get the feeling that by the time I connect to a station's wifi my train will have arrived. Nor does using wifi in a crowd of people sound all that enticing anyways.

So stubborn. At this point even subway supporters should think about calling the province out by voting against the subway. Since the province has invested so much political capital into this extension there's be a damn good chance they'd end up covering all extra costs if forced to go it alone.

So Ford came out saying he won't support the tax hike.

    Peterborough Commuter Rail

I was surprised to learn that they had abandoned the plan for an integrated station at Agincourt. It's an interesting placement at Brimley they have in that study since it eats up the school yard for two schools for the station's parking lot.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

That was what I thought too. I remember reading a figure of $14million annual loss because of the Vaughan section.

Saw this lovely quote from John Sewell while talking about the Scarborough Subway(emphasis mine). Haha no.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Public polling on these issues always seems a bit off. IT doesn't help that people seem to be generally uninformed on the issue. I have a bit of a laugh of over the notion that more stations means more people will walk to transit. Stations like Ellesmere and Midland aren't exactly located in...
