The elevator core seems remarkably thin, I’m surprised they didn’t make it a bit thicker to better support the weight. And save a bit on the costs of the supercolumns.

What was Parade supposed to look like originally? Was it just external cladding that changed or were floorplans redone too?

In some ways it looks more futuristic and cleaner. The real worry is if they cheap out on the glass or concrete whitening.

Maybe a Massey Tower type building with a big retail podium and nice parkette on top?

Well if Mizrahi owns the next small building, another developer buying the remaining land doesn’t seem likely? The Rogers store is only worth something special if all the small buildings could be assembled into a big parcel. And Mizrahi & co. can sit fat and happy there for decades because they...

Right that Roger store makes me wonder, even if the owner was asking for $10 million, it would make sense because it would make the site way less space constrained.

Does anyone know the maximum residential square footage for Phase 1 of the project? (If the zoning’s even been decided yet.)

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

    That’s over 20 km long.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Wow that does make sense. Lack of political reliability in a democratic system requiring effectively a multi hundred million dollar precommitment mechanisms to make sure the project gets completed.

But that’s the thing, since Metrolinx is already digging at Kennedy, why didn’t they make use of the pit to launch the TBM this summer, instead of digging a seperate pit? (And collect the rents from the Ford dealership on top of the Sheppard location for a few more years) Since they have to dig...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Does anyone know why they chose to start north and tunnel south, instead of starting south and tunnel north? (Leaving the TBM stranded at Kennedy doesn’t seem to make sense when it’s known that a TBM will be needed oneday for expansion past Shepard.) EDIT: Changed old question.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Does anyone know why they decided against rebuilding it OVER the railroad tracks? (Instead of taking up valuable land)

It does seem like it’s a net addition though the building’s so massive it’s hard to tell. If no floor space has been taken away it’s easy to see why the buyers would accept this, they straight get more balcony for their money.
