    Every lines loses money, right?

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

It does seem possible, concrete would be unnecessarily heavy.

    Toronto 101 Spadina Avenue | 133.95m | 39s | Devron Developments | AUDAX

The top looks really classy but the base is a let down, way too flimsy looking for such a bulky mass. They should have at least extended the corner pillars all the way down.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

This looks like it will be the largest condo in Canada by total square footage, can anyone confirm?

The One - Mizrahi Developments - (Real Estate) -

Those in the market for $3 million plus condos usually are the Rosedale/Yorkville or international wealthy crowd. It really depends if enough want to buy into a building with lower end buyers occupying half the building and sharing the space. It likely will have competition from the other super...

    Toronto Artists' Alley | 121.91m | 39s | Lanterra | Hariri Pontarini

Thickest slab I’ve seen. A bit bizarre that Lantera splurged on something so expensive when the condos aren’t even Yorkville type luxury units.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Well maybe a police station could be built next door? The Portlands will likely need one eventually. Half sarcastic.

Residence College Hotel new Lecture Hall (90 Gerrard St. W, 2s, DSAI)

Ah makes sense, the huge parking complex behind it could be even integrated into a massive hospital expansion.

Residence College Hotel new Lecture Hall (90 Gerrard St. W, 2s, DSAI)

I checked the database and it seems there are no plans for the parking lot in the NE corner there. With all the proposed developments elsewhere I’d be surprised if there wasn‘t interest in that prime piece of land.

Thanks for the info but I meant building the Gardiner to DVP section over the Metrolinx RoW, I should have replied to the image on the previous page.

Your right, it doesn’t make sense at all, especially capping increases at ‘inflation’ when its obvious that asset inflation way outstrips CPI. A few decades down the line these units could easily be a quarter of the price of the other units in a given building. Giving whoever gets them a massive...

    Toronto 401 Bay Street | 143.86m | 33s | Cadillac Fairview | WZMH

I think there’s much lower hanging fruit to go after, like how most residential condo projects, other than the super lux, uses way cheaper windows than even this, and much worse than what they show in marketing images.

    Toronto 11 YV | 213m | 62s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

Hmm well they could always build a ground level foyer in the future.

Will this building be linked with 33 Yorkville next door?

Don’t see what everyone is up in arms about. Looks like a fine minimalist base. Not much better than a hudson’s bay store in the suburbs granted but still far from the worst in Toronto.

    Toronto Cielo Condos | 120.5m | 34s | Collecdev-Markee | KPMB

This building has an enormous cantilever over the church, the largest I’ve ever seen in a condo. I’m surprised there’s not even any diagonal bracing under it!

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Woops, looks like your right, for some reason I thought the hallways wouldn’t be there for the upper levels.

And they’ll definitely have louder high speed elevators. Maybe they plan on keeping the same wall thickness for the entire height, idk if a foot of concrete is enough to block the noise. For that matter does anyone know if the building will have quadruple pane or super thick windows, at least...

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

That’s actually an interesting point. Modern buildings aren’t being provisioned with helipads for future rotorcraft. Maybe they should?

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Right but the slimmer supercolumns would free up super valuable square footage near the windows, in exchange for slightly thicker core walls, taking up more square footage at the very back that’s barely worth anything. If they could be slimmed down by even a foot in width, times 8 columns, times...
