    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

So what happens after Pan Am to Cinnibon, Second Cup, Great Canadian Bagel and the DQ? Are those business owners all losing their restaurants and am I losing my favorites?

L Tower Condos (Cityzen, Castlepoint Realty, Fernbrook Homes) - Real Estate -

Your neighbours at the Berczy had no interim occupancy for most tenants including me. Registered before move-in, almost unprecedented.

Are all elevator companies equally bad

I appreciate all your comments. But whatever the reason it's now 5 full days. Elevators running full time 24×7 stopping at every floor. No part in yet. Lots of wear and tear and utility costs that my condo is saddled with. I feel like we sre being held hostage. If an ambulance was called I'm...

Are all elevator companies equally bad

I live in a new downtown condo, won't mention the name at the moment so as not to stigmatize it. It's a small building about a dozen floors. It's been occupied for about 18 months. The elevators, ThyssenKrupp are awful in terms of reliability. Perhaps not the elevator per se but when they...

Shared fridge/freezer rented by time for condo residents

OK so no laughing, this may sound strange. My wife and I had a couple of parties over the weekend for my son's 30th birthday, we used the party room in the condo but did all the cooking on our own. OK, I mean she did the cooking. Whatever. It was really difficult figuring out how to keep things...

So many renters breaking their rental agreement and leaving early.

Not only for that reason, collecting the judgement, but often the tenant says "OK, you want to play it that way, you entered my unit 3 times illegally, my heat wasn't working for 4 days" etc. So the tenant sues you to offset the rent judgment. You are right. Make a deal.

So many renters breaking their rental agreement and leaving early.

It is more complicated than that. But yes, mitigation is essential. Even if the tenant doesn't move in, the tenancy commences on the day that the tenant is entitled to occupy the rental unit. So the tenancy starts, like it or not. Rent continues to be owed until the date that rent would have...

    Toronto Berczy Park Revitalization | ?m | ?s

Have you not seen these wonderful heritage lights sitting with cracked bases lying across the sidewalk whenever a car bumper touches them. A dozen missing along Front Street. They have no replacements. Bases covering bolts at street level missing. It's a disgrace. Bolts are so terribly...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Been lurking on this thread for a year, recently moved downtown and been fascinated by the scope of work at Union, both the subway and grand station. Had three questions, perhaps a bit off-topic but I couldn't find a better place. 1. While walking through and around Union Station today...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Sorry if this has been answered, I don't follow this thread to often. Just walked past Union Station today on Front and noticed there was no wrapping over the building. Can someone tell me when that happened, and also am i imagining it or does the east side of the building not look clean like...

    Carmen's Steakhouse is back

Nope. North side of Alexander a few buildings in from Yonge.

    Carmen's Steakhouse is back

I used to go there 30 years ago, my parents also. Great steaks but you had to love garlic. The great pickles and cottage cheese brings back memories. Used to be Carmen's Club, got some sort of club license so they could get around Toronto's 8th Sunday opening laws. Carmen was there every...

    St Lawrence Market

Thanks, just emailed her. Perhaps all of us in this group should ask her to check out these issues. I wrote as follows:

Another busted light I saw another one of the new street lights busted today just east of Jarvis. What are they doing about this? They break at the base as soon as you touch them. Who is our councillor?

    Toronto L-Tower | 204.82m | 58s | Cityzen | Daniel Libeskind

I heard a rumour from someone with a bit of inside knowledge, that there is a real issue getting the crane down, and in fact, they will not be able to get it down and parts of it will be disassembled and stored at the top of the building, and then another crane brought in to remove the pieces...

To change the subject...when is that crane coming down. I want to watch.

    St Lawrence Market

Anyone surprised that Pastizza on the south side of market street looks like it's been ready for over a month and they don't open? They are missing the summer with that nice patio.

Construction on Esplanade Ave, no Bier Markt patio for 2012?

The road is being paved, no?

    St Lawrence Market

What has happened to Esplanade between Market and Church? They are ripping up all sorts of concrete that was just poured as part of the streetscape redesign. Pumper trucks 24-7 pumping out liquid. Me thinks someone screwed up badly. Notice the nice new concrete bollard knocked down already and...

Berczy Condos, The (Concert Properties) - Real Estate -

That's one horror story mattnmags. I do think that they got sloppy on the last two floors. They are doing deficiency work, slowly, and more painting than anything else from what I can tell. But it's a shame. At this point in the project, the trades are on the way out, the developer is...
