    Condos in "downtown" Markham

You get what you pay for.. At first I was dead against the 407, but after using it for a while, you realize that it's better to pay more and be able to drive 100-120kmh in rush hour than to pay less and have the highway jammed.

    City Workers Strike 2009

Why can't the police just enforce the existing law without an injunction and fine and arrest picketers who obstruct citizens??? As I understand, the law states that picketers cannot stop or delay people.

Best bet is to use a good broker.

    Condos in "downtown" Markham

I find it funny how you would recomment North York Centre over Markham Centre. I'm in both areas very frequently and I find that the traffic is WORSE in North York vs. Markham Centre.. At least in Markham, you have the 407, which is a quick way across town (even in rush hour) and the Go Train...

    Smart Centre developments

The Smart Centre at Bathurst and Centre Streets in Thornhill is pretty good. It's their attempt at a "lifestyle centre", streetfront, parking at the back, small shops and you still have the Wal-Mart for the cheap stuff that you need.

Office Towers vs. MPAC and Toronto

Wouldn't that bring Toronto in line with the other 905 municipalities, in which the commercial/residential property taxes are more in line with each other? In Toronto, commercial is subsidizing residential property taxes (roughly 4% tax on commercial vs 0.8% tax on residences, compared to 905...

    Unions!

Does anyone know what the process/laws would be in regards to somehow firing the striking employees and hiring new ones/contracting out??? Is this even possible in Canada? (it's been used in the States during the air traffic controllers strike in the 1980's) The days of Unions holding...

    Markham Remington Centre | ?m | 33s | Remington Group | Kohn

No law requiring it.. Back in the mid 1990's the deputy Mayor of Markham proposed it and she was accused as a racist!!

    Markham Remington Centre | ?m | 33s | Remington Group | Kohn

When the signs are in CHINESE ONLY, it is to the exclusion of others... These mono-ethnic malls are just fueling ethnic and racial tensions in areas such as Markham.. There is nothing stopping anyone from going to a traditional mall, but these malls, with Chinese Only signs, dirty looks to...

    Markham Remington Centre | ?m | 33s | Remington Group | Kohn

It would be nicer if it was incusive to all cultures, races and ethnicies... "Single ethnic" malls and developments are not the right way of doing things.. What if someone opened a "White Mall" in Rosedale??? It would be called racist!

    California Condos (Camrost-Felcorp) - Real Estate -

Parks and the lake, plus easy access to highways.. Not everyone works downtown. I know of many people who live in this area who work in Mississauga but don't want to live there, but still want to be a 20-30min drive to work.
