TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

The most recent BBD targets included only up to car 59 in their schedule, for a total of 29 in 2017. The 11 target includes 60-64, so for the first quarter we should expect cars 4460 - 4470.

I'm for it! I think it would be great to have a couple hundred named-cars in the network.

The BRT system in Cape Town is all high-floor bus via dedicated transit platforms. I was there recently and noticed it. I guess there are probably other systems of BRT that have this set up, but I do remembering how funny the bus doors looked :D

I don’t know... if the panto went up en route before a bridge and caused some damage I don’t see how CN or CP would just eat that. Seems negligent on the part of BBD to allow that pole to raise like that. Just my perspective.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Just wondering why you're thinking this is CP's issue? Surely CP has some type of contract of carriage that waives their liability if the cargo is not secured. If anything, if I'm CP I'm looking into any damage that pole caused to my infrastructure. This doesn't seem like negligence in any way...

Agreed. If we need those additional cars for the fleet, then not optioning up on the order to punish BBD for how they have executed against the existing contract seems like biting off the nose to spite the face.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Yes, I'm a bbd follower who joined specifically to follow the Flexity delivery news. Haven't spent a lot of time following this tread, and BBD transports progress, I just find there is a huge disconnect between how we feel about the company that has constantly over promised and under delivered...

In the quarter ending Sept 30th, they reported >2B in revenues with FY guidance ~8.5B. The total order backlog was 33B with positive book-to-bill. BBD Transport does make money. I know we GTA'ers like to think we're the center of the universe, but just including BBD's performance against the...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Just reading through the December 2017 it looks like BBD has won several billion dollars worth of orders. Their order backlog in transportation is something like 30+B. Having 30B of orders on the books doesn't sound like a 'downfall', does it? Here are their press releases...
