    Toronto Telus House - 25 York Street | 136.24m | 30s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

That's the one they're supposed to be building. I seem to remember reading that work won't start until the new south platform in finished and in service.

    Toronto Infinity Condos | ?m | 35s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects

Granite/Stainless/Laminate has pretty much become the minimum standard in the area. All 3 upgrades were included in 2 bdrm units in Infinity 1, while 1 & 1+1 units came with the choice of one of the upgrades. Even most of those I've seen have at least Granite and Laminate. Exactly. It's a two...

^ well said urbanboom, I couldn't agree more.

    Toronto Infinity Condos | ?m | 35s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects

The floor plans are one of the best features in these buildings, they make a very efficient use of space, especially compared to some of the other developments in the area. But re: Solaris' post, I wonder if they're actually selling any at those prices. I found an old Infinity 1 price list I had...

Taken today. A good view of Success Tower in the background as well:

Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

Considering they still have a billboard up on the site that says January 2009 occupancy you'd think they'd be nearly done by December. Based on their current pace though I'd guess they'll just be topping out around then. It got off to a slow start but seems to be moving now - the crews are...

    Hudson's Bay Company

The title of this thread is a little misleading - L&T isn't buying HBC, NDRC Equity Partners is. They also happen to own L&T, and have turned it around quite nicely in the last two years. Hopefully they'll be able to do the same with HBC. This is not at all a death sentence for HBC, quite the...

No you're correct, the south side is still below Gardiner level, though not for long.

    Toronto Ïce Condominiums at York Centre | 234.07m | 67s | Lanterra | a—A

The former. We're certainly not running out of office space, though sites like this, in the immediate vicinity of union station are not unlimited.

    Toronto Ïce Condominiums at York Centre | 234.07m | 67s | Lanterra | a—A

Exactly. The developer knew the land was zoned commercial when it was purchased, they shouldn't be allowed to build anything they want. The city is being very accomodating by allowing residential on the site at all, it is not unreasonable to take steps to ensure that the commercial component is...

    Toronto Ïce Condominiums at York Centre | 234.07m | 67s | Lanterra | a—A

For those interested in such things there's a community consultation meeting for this project next Wednesday at 7 at Metro Hall (55 John), room 310. My only issue with this project is the part about how the developer wants to build the condos first and leave the office tower for later...we've...

Toronto #15 best city in the world, and how films are funded

In theory you are correct, but unfortunately the reality in this country is that government subsidies are an incredibly vital component of funding for films (and television and music as well). Without it, many simply wouldn't be made. As such, the bill is equivalent to censorship.

Liberal senators are proposing amendments to the bill that should make it more reasonable: http://www.thestar.com/article/445325

    Infinity: Phases 1 & 2 (Conservatory Group, 35 + 16 + 12s, E I Richmond) COMPLETE

^ exactly, I'm glad to have another option in the area. I've never been to a Hoops either so I'll reserve judgment, as long as the beer is cold though I'll probably be happy. And yeah I agree an ESPN Zone would be nice, hopefully the MLSE-themed bar that is supposed to go into Maple Leaf Square...

    Infinity: Phases 1 & 2 (Conservatory Group, 35 + 16 + 12s, E I Richmond) COMPLETE

Update on the commercial space in this building: There's a sports bar called Hoops opening soon in the eastern corner unit (at Bremner & Grand Trunk). Not exactly sure when but it still looks like they've got quite a bit of work to do inside. Once it opens it should do pretty well given the...

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

I flew Porter to Montreal for work this week, it was the first time I've had a chance to fly with them since November and the increase in ridership was very noticeable. Leaving on Monday morning the plane was completely full, compared to less than half when I took the same flight last fall...
