    Rob Ford's Toronto

I should have said Canadian murders of journalists for political motivation. So one was killed by an extremist group based in India, the other by a crazy guy. I don't think either of these examples has anything in common with the Fords' behaviour. They've done nothing with what they've taped so...

    Another parody account...

But (other than the journalists), we're talking about lowlife criminals. They're not about to go knocking off councillors. And I don't know of any Canadian examples of the murders of journalists. It's shitty behaviour but if they tried to do that to me, I'd just give them the finger. As...

What is the intimidation though? Like who cares? What could they possibly do?

I hurt my back yesterday morning, went to physio at lunch, was at work all yesterday and am in today. And I'm not a mayor missing an important debate.

Yup...there's the whole Garrison Ball issue and other incidents where our highest elected official gets wasted in public/thrown out/not invited back. And we saw from his calendar right after his night of videotaped crack smoking, he didn't show up to a single event to which he was invited.

There's one at Queen/Spadina now...let's see how widespread they go.

That rumour was going around here and Reddit...whether it was started by someone from the media or they picked it up from a forum, we don't know. Also I think the sexual abuse tweet referred to the research she was doing for her doc on human trafficking, not pointing to Ford actually doing...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Another line of questioning (and he would totally deflect with "I'm not perfect" but...) - "you say you're experimenting with drugs and that you're not an addict. Do you think that's appropriate as the leader of a city? Why do you do this? Do you think you're above the law? Do you realize you...

Seriously. Just "Why are you friends with Sandro Lisi? Why did you write him a reference letter on city letterhead? Since you say he worked on your campaign, why does Doug say he doesn't know him? If you haven't done anything wrong, explain your behaviour."

I liked how Matt asked him how many he was personally responsible for.

I just got to the "I'm thinner!" part. OH GAWWWWWD. Sorry, cranes and tourists don't inspire me.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Frustrating interview. He claims Matt's stats are wrong, and then makes up his own on the spot and uses anecdotal evidence. And the way he just laughed off the library workers strike...that weird nervous giggle like he doesn't take anything seriously...argh. "I'm not a criminal"..."you smoked...

Obviously I don't condone it and I can't stand the man. But it hasn't been made "public" the way the other shit he's done has, so to me it's still a grey area.

I would be really uncomfortable with someone bringing that up in a public setting. We don't know the circumstances, we barely know anything about Renata, there are kids involved etc. As unseemly as it is, for me that crosses a line. Publicly accusing him of beating her takes it to a whole other...

There was SO MUCH they could have used without even talking directly about the crack use. Though I do wish someone had brought up the gang stuff and his "tough on crime" BS.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

The idea that Ford "won" the debate is so sickening to me. He just parroted the same talking points, didn't answer questions and didn't take responsibility for anything. In my mind, no one "won" because everyone was terrible and the format was a mess. There is one loser though, and that's this...

How/why were they not prepared this time??

I have a question that might be silly but I really would like to know...when the garbage collection gets/got contracted out, what happens to the union workers?

Agree with all of this. Ford got off easy and none of the other candidates were particularly impressive. So much repetition of talking points but little substance. I like Soknacki the most but he has no chance. Stintz just seemed so nervous.
