Market Wharf Condos (Context Development) - Real Estate -

I'm on the 9th. Had my finishes meeting at beginning of Feb.

    Balcony Furniture

Smart consideration, Lucy. Yeah, I was involved in that decking thread. OP, it's not balcony furniture per se, but do a search on that if you might be interested. Definitely warms up a concrete balcony.

Getting on southbound Yonge subway during morning rush hour?

I take the train southbound from Eglinton between 8:45-9:00 am smack dab during rush hour. While the trains are often packed, the only time you can't get on is if there was an issue. What I find worse is getting home at 5:15-5:30. At St. Clair (yes, a short commute - only 2 stops), the trains...

Anyone else have their options selection meetings yet?

    Balcony Furniture

Wood, of course, is fine for outdoors but I would guess it should be treated. Wicker, rattan, and wrought iron come to mind. Up Country has some amazing outdoor furniture, but prices are super expensive. Dot appears to specialize in outdoor stuff, but I've never been. I was at The Bay the other...

King Charlotte Condos (Lamb Development Corp) - Real Estate -

If purchasing as an investment, what are the market rental rates for a 1 bedroom unit in this neighbourhood? Ultimately, when purchased as an investment it's strictly a numbers game. From a general perspective, I would say that $595-$605 psf is the going rate for this neighbourhood. Does that...

    Toronto Market Wharf | 110.33m | 33s | Context Development | a—A

Any idea what the plans are for it? If I recall correctly it'll be a green roof, right? I think the townhomes in the sky will have little backyards and then it'll be a green roof in the middle. I hope it'll be a space that everyone can use and townhome residents won't feel that other residents...

    Toronto Market Wharf | 110.33m | 33s | Context Development | a—A

I understand what you're saying to a certain extent. The original plan was for the tower to be higher but they had to cut back. Even still, every time I look at the current renderings I'm very impressed. Could it be better? Well, that was the plan. But it's still going to be a stellar looking...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Was at Crews/Tango this past Sat night for the first time in a long time and for the first time since they reopened. It was incredibly busy on every floor and in every room. Crowd is a lot bigger (maybe too many as there was a line to get into the back) and a lot more mixed than what I remember...

What do you think about this floorplan?

Yes, very similar floor plan. Post House has a balcony so it all depends on price and choice of location between each.

    St Lawrence Market

As DSC notes, that's Market Lane Park. We're referring to the development on Market Lane between Front and The Esplanade right next to the South Market. Hopefully the new North Market will result in more action. I always thought this park could use an upgrade. Outside of some vendors on some...

    St Lawrence Market

Hopefully pedestrian only all year long. nfitz, not sure what you mean that there would be more street life if there were cars there. It's already a little throughfare for driving and for loading/unloading at the market. Cars won't make this little lane more exciting or attractive. Note that...

Rank from 1-3 (exposure, ceiling height, floor level) when buying a condo

I agree that higher ceilings create a sense of greater space than square footage. It's not so much the size of the unit that matters as does the feel of the place. When it comes to floor height, I just want to be high enough that I can sit on the balcony and feel privacy from passerbys at...

    2BR Condo

That's an awesome floor plan! It has a California room! ;) I don't find it to be an inefficient use of space at all. What makes you think so? Maybe you're seeing something I don't or you know how you live and so you can see from drawbacks. But I see more positives than negatives. I love...

    Thompson Residences - Floorplan

I think it's a decent floor plan in a good neighbourhood. I would forego the optional island and create extra workspace against the left side wall, if needed. The dimensions of the living/dining are ample enough, but I think this will give you the opportunity to do a whole lot more and have...

    Random Interior Design Questions

Lucy, I have a feeling window coverings will take a big bite out of our design budgets. :)

    Random Interior Design Questions

Window coverings will be my main consideration since I'll be moving into a corner unit with floor to ceiling windows all around. Still not sure what the best options will be. At first, I was considering roller shades, but then just like you I started thinking about sheers or drapery. I want...

    Toronto L-Tower | 204.82m | 58s | Cityzen | Daniel Libeskind

Not disagreeing that there isn't room for improvement, but I agree with this statement. Yonge & Front might not act as a continuation of St. Lawrence Market or the Downtown Core, but it does have a sense of being a "gateway". Whether that is for better or worse, I don't know.

    Toronto The Berczy | 41.76m | 13s | Concert | Arcadis

That still doesn't sound like an alternative has been provided. What would you have done differently if you were the designer? I'm not putting you or your opinion down. Challenging it maybe. Just looking for some substance as to what would make for a better building design at this location.
