Perhaps they are going to use the Transit Card functionality built into Apple/Google Wallets - it keeps the transit card as the default payment and allows tap without having to authenticate on the phone (if you chose this) - I believe it may even allow tap if your phone is on zero charge/low...

I think they will try to get it done and opened for Canada Day... (but I predict they won't say anything about it until late April/early May)

On the topic of Yonge/Eglinton LRT station - looks like the secondary entrance at the old Sally Anne site seems to be derelict. Is the plan to just get the main entrance done first and open the secondary entrance after the line opens?

Based on what I am seeing, at least Bayview and Eglinton as well as Mount Pleasant and Eg, looks like they will be opening up really soon. They've paved all sides, just putting finishing touches up on the bike lanes out front it looks like.

I honestly think that nobody will believe any completion date anyone gives at this point thus the silence. I don’t think we will hear any date given until they are literally down to last finishing touches

I think we can all agree that driving has become worse... more distractions, more cars, more bikes, etc... etc... but interestingly enough, your chance of being killed in automobile accidents has almost halved in the last 20 years which is due I think in large part to safety devices, airbags...

But in fairness, didn't they already use this as the last excuse for the delay? They knew all of this the last time they rescheduled the opening, so I don't see how they can re-use the same issue - its just an excuse for mismanagement at this point. I understand issues happen and projects are...

How about we put drug addicts into rehab facilities, take mentally ill people and put them into treatment centers - isnt that actually what is needed to clean up this area?

I hope you're right... hope they are a good deterrent, but I already shockingly encountered huge tagging in one of the washrooms in there...
