    VIA Rail

Well, part of it is VIA, who is advancing that this proposal will pay for itself and be at least partially privately financed. You have to have everything in a row to make sure the project won't be blocked after a bunch of private money is spent.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Yeah, fortunately they are opening at the beginning of a 4 year budget cycle, and frequency will hopefully be ramped up by next summer as the new budget begins. Calgary Transit had to cover the service hours for the BRT routes from within their existing budget for now.

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

"In addition to roof modernization, the team also investigated how the roof would affect the field if the Blue Jays were to replace the current artificial turf with real grass. We provided performance modeling to simulate light conditions that would affect grass growth and determine if the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Calgary is about to switch over to a new network for much of the city after spending $300 million on new BRT corridors (everything on this map except for the Red and Blue). Outside of a few sections (8 km of the purple line, and 2 km of the teal line) it has involved mostly building slip lanes...

    Jennifer Keesmaat's Toronto

"For instance I've often thought the threshold for passing any law should be 50% (plus one) of the seats in the legislature voting yes, as opposed to a winning number with lots of empty seats." Basically you just want everyone to be in the legislature for all the votes? Sure you can do that, but...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

It refers to earlier parks, but for purposes here it would be that seats are oriented towards the pitchers mound, instead of perpendicular to the row in which they are situated. In experience, you seat more comfortably to watch the vast majority of the game. Right now the seats down the base...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

If renovations turn into smaller bite sized changes to bump up fan experience, what about jewel boxing the lower bowl stands - could it be done without replacing the stands - just the seats? or would it involve ripping out the moveable stands and replacing them entirely?

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

Flying west bound you have shorter range than east bound, plus there is the steep approach to consider. For the island airport if their were fewer restrictions the important change would be the number of passengers you can get out while staying within noise contours. I doubt it would be...

A318, A319 with less than max takeoff weight, all the BAE RJ series, and the 146s. Bombardier CRJ-200 is likely with weight restrictions. Fokker F-70 as well.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Well, that is kinda hard, since under at least some of the seats are the wheels, motors and bogies. Can't just wish them away. One of the sacrifices of going low floor.

Stations are the majority of the tunnel project cost - the tunnel could be left for a long time.

    Transit City Plan

Without any land costs, utility relocation costs, rolling stock costs, signal system costs (but they still have signals integrated into the traffic lights), or maintenance facility costs, streetcars sure are cheap! (I could be wrong, my knowledge of scope on this project is limited)

Heating mechanisms on the third rail system I believe.

    Artics Coming Back to TTC?

A great trial period for artics will be the SRT replacement shutdown period. A fixed route, that needs lots of capacity, at as low a cost as possible. If everything was done in a coordinated fashion, the buses could be used for the PanAm games then moved over for SRT replacement.

    Artics Coming Back to TTC?

Calgary Transit has bought used buses in the past, but only ones that had commonality with some in their fleet already, and they thought they could squeeze a few more years out of. That being said, they were mostly used during peak only and as fleet spares.

    King / Queen LRT Circuit

With the province planning the first stage of the DRL to relieve Union Station congestion, I'm not even sure the current capacity on the streetcar routes will even be needed for long enough to make an investment in upping capacity worthwhile.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Yeah. The TTC internally hates ICTS, and seems to be willing to do anything to end its use. Metrolinx for a long time was trying to convince the TTC to do a continuous ICTS Eglinton - SRT, but the TTC was having nothing of it. Add to that the TTC's refusal to do contracting through...

    Transit City Plan

The DRL is necessary for the province to continue to increase the GO network capacity so could end up on the table much faster than with the city pushing it alone.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

More than the Spadina stops, but not much more. maybe some enclosed wind shelters with radiant heaters, but I wouldn't count on it. All the subway interchanges included underground stations so most people won't have multiple waits out in the elements every day.
