    Is Hume right?

I'm tired of comparing Toronto to other cities. I don't care how bad or good public transit in other cities is. I only care how bad or good it is here in Toronto. I have to say that for the most part I think it is way behind. It's still (somewhat) clean and safe and if you live along the subway...

Oh, how I wish the straights DIDN'T take us so seriously, because when they do we're beaten, killed, humiliated, discriminated against, incarcerated... History is filled with gays being 'taken seriously'. As for that 'old saying', only a f-ing pig would say something that ignorant.

The TVs make it look even worse. It's a dump. Pure and simple. I don't see it as a Ryerson pub at all. It looks like it will end up for the sketch and rent-boy crowd. It could've been so much more.

The pub where Barn used to be is opened. To say it is a dump would be an understatement. It's basically The Barn with tables and bad lighting. It's going to make it's money during Pride though only because of its location. I was expecting more. Churchmouse and O'Grady's are 5-star compared to this.

"...and tonnes of people with pets.†– Yeah, the dog sh*t on the pavement I'm constantly dodging is testament to that.

St Charles! Lol. I remember walking by that with my mum and sister in the 80s. A cute guy walked out and my mum said "That's too bad". I asked "What is?" She cleared her throat and said, "Nothing. Never mind." LOL!

Regarding the pole things, are the people behind this the same people behind the hideous (and dangerous) street name plaques? If they are – time to clean house!

Could it be these are becoming the norm? Smaller venues where dancing is not the main objective? Has the removal of dance clubs changed how we 'party' or has how we party changed coincidentally along with clubs closing? Do want to go dancing as much as we used to?

Buddies is only good if you're 18-23 and like Katy Perry and Keisha. ;) I'm glad I was able to enjoy clubbing in the village and elsewhere during it's last gasp. If it wasn't for Grapefruit and WAYLA, though, I wouldn't have gone dancing anywhere for the past few years. Now GF is gone and...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Church St was never designated as a club area, meaning that 'dance clubs' were not allowed to open. Bars with dance areas could open, however. I am not at all sure what the zoning issues are or anything but I do not there was mention of it a few years ago. Kyle Rae at the time said if gays want...

    Downtown Yonge

I like BB&B as a walk-through. It smells nice when you walk in and the washrooms are OK. Its big and bright and the prices aren't that bad at all. Marshall's (if the one on Spadina is anything to go by) is terrible and is an exact copy of Winners. The restaurant below was initially supposed to...

If Superfresh Mart was smart they would keep it 'under-stocked' as it is now. Walking by it looked cleaner, less cluttered and easier to manoeuvre.

Noticed that. End of an era (officially).

    Target

I think the big deal for many is that thousands of Zeller's employees were let go. Add to that the fact that yet another Canuck department store bit the dust, people were expecting something amazing instead of meh. We'll see how the ones in suburban Toronto are (East York, Etobicoke) when they open.

    Target

Toronto Start article: Target misses the bullseye "Men's department is a yawn..." No surprise there. Time will tell if they stock up on more items. I'm only interested in the home section, personally.

    Target

Eager to check out the home section. But, other than that: meh. Not even going to bother with the men's dept as they are almost always crap. But, I've heard positive things about the furniture and linen, etc.

Hurrah! It was silly not to have any lights there for so long. As soon as Verve went up there should've been traffic lights.
