Buses that use a guideway requires special running wheels to make contact with the running rails. Guideways are pretty labour intensive for the little benefits they bring. It's not worth the cost.

If you're travelling during the peak periods, and using the 401, it's going to be a slow commute. I work 7:30-3:30, so I don't experience traffic. The 109 is a quick ride to SQ1 area, I'm looking forward to when the transitway is fully open.

Usually takes me 70-75 mins depending on the traffic. I live in Toronto and travel to 'Sauga for work. I considered moving closer to work, but I love living in Toronto, and 'sauga isn't a city I want to live in.

It's unlikely the subway fanatics will listen. It's hard to change one's view with facts. I agree with improving bus service in Scarborough. The service is abysmal.

Considering he said he would be cabbing from now on, my suggestion on buying a car is reasonable. Save more money. It looks like he does own a car, so maybe he should drive into work if the TTC isn't working for him, or bike to work.

Calling for streetcars to be replaced with buses because he hates streetcars isn't my idea of discussing how to improve services. God forbid what this thread would be like if we all complained about our personal issues with the TTC. *ahem* Bathurst bus *ahem*

^^I've gotten many free rides on PRESTO because of broken readers. I personally don't blame him. Guelph is a small system. Why spend money on a farecard system?

Because TBMs are usually "dragged" through a station box to continue tunneling. Since the station box for the station wasn't built yet, it made more sense to lift the TBMs over the existing subway and continue tunneling to Yonge. If the TTC was building the ECLRT, it's likely the station would...

I'm not sure if it's a problem. I'm not an engineer, but it doesn't seem too big of an issue to shore up the tunnel with steel beams and excavate while the subway is running.

Lots of locals, for sure. I live right at St. Clair West, so it was easy to get there at night.

It was worth staying up for. I didn't stay for the move across the Allen, but the seeing the TBM lifted was worth it. You don't have to wait until 2:00, the TBM was visible around 11:30.
