    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Exactly (bolding mine). There's been a marked decrease in the speed of the trains entering Bloor station. It's something I understand at the end of a line, but it just looks bizarre at a station in the middle of the line. There's something they're worried about for sure. I've seen the taxi...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Thank god...it's about time. There's a bit of a confusing list of stops under "Gerrard Street" on there as I think almost all of those stops should be listed under Dundas.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

That is true of the sound pressure levels; however, humans also perceive sound roughly on a logarithmic scale (Weber-Fechner). That means the perceived loudness is actually around 3 times louder. Anyway, what a strange comparison. 60 dB is more like conversation feet or an air conditioner...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Sherbourne is kind of the worst "hard separation" (I mean non flex-post) design possible. It really encourages pretty much any vehicle (cars, delivery trucks, etc) to just ease over onto it and stop/park. The best in the city right now IMO is on Wellesley, where the separating curb is squared...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I had a strange experience on the 505 streetcar yesterday on a trip to the east side (I don't head east very often). We held at rush hour stopped at Parliament and Dundas for 6 or 7 minutes while the driver was "waiting for his relief operator." That seems like an incredibly poor place to...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Yeah, I'm with you. If they can't program the reader properly, it's not the riders fault. You can't really expect them to carry $2.90 in change when there's a big announcement that a route is "Presto-enabled."

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

Why is it that Line 2 can't handle the TR's? There are so many spares right now, I was wondering if they might start using a few of them on Line 2.

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

Really? When I did this in T3 it was just to hand over the form like you usually do leaving the customs hall. They also did away with stamping the boarding pass.

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

I was just thinking the exact same thing biking by Bloor station yesterday on the rail path. It just seems so redundant to have to design a station that should be a major node with two different platform heights. It's hard to imagine them not planning to use somewhat more compatible/flexible...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I strongly agree that there are still serious issues with the street. It was apparent as soon as I saw their material with descriptions of "pedestrians noticing the change from PaleoTec pavers to grey granite pavers to make them aware...." There are some ways to vastly improve the situation...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

It's actually quite nice right there! I did it as one of my last long rides in the fall. I wasn't sure where to go once I got to the dam...explored a little bit around the area, but didn't see any good cycling routes from there, so I just turned around. Beautiful ride though.

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

No good indeed. At least they're being honest about it and upfront instead of delivering one car a month.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I'm not brave enough to go helmet-free in Toronto. When in Montreal; however, the cycling infrastructure feels good enough that I don't mind using the Bixi bikes at all!

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

I did this in T3 a couple months ago. It felt quite strange to do! For frequent travelers at their home airport, it's always a bit jarring when the process changes. I navigate Pearson on autopilot usually. Looking forward to seeing the T1 changes.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

The Humber trail is by far one of my favorite places to cycle (just did it yesterday); however, the detour onto Weston road is indeed annoying and dangerous. It doesn't seem that a solution for closing that gap will be reached any time soon. There's a bit of construction on the trail right now...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Somehow in Europe (this is Amsterdam) pedestrians seem to be able to navigate with relatively unmarked tram tracks coming through a square. 10 km/hr is absolutely absurd for intersections in a ROW.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

All cynicism aside, these do seem to be real and tangible steps to increase the production rate. Previously, it was just a version of "Mexico didn't build the flux capacitors to spec. Just an isolated incident. Don't worry, next week we'll speed up. Trust us." Now, they've outlined specific...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

And I save over $100 a month on the cost of a TTC pass. It's also faster. My partner doesn't have a bike, and we'll often go somewhere at the same time with him on the TTC. Unless we're going somewhere really far, I beat him every time!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Yeah, it really makes nervous when I see a bike coming up on the right behind a car that's already started turning right. The cyclists sometimes just think dinging their bell gives them right of way. So much safer to stop, look, and pass behind them on the left.

    Should Toronto regulate dispensaries?

I'm starting to wonder if the city of Toronto needs to regulate dispensaries. Just in my immediate neighbourhood, two have opened in the last two weeks, 100 meters from each other! There is now a dispensary at 1271 Dundas St. W. and another one at 1245 Dundas St. W. This is only 94 meters...
