    Transit City Plan

What billion dollars is the Mayor talking about? The $600 million from the Province and $300 million from the Feds? So he'll declare victory on two stations? And wasn't he offered a compromise as such?

Metrolinx: Sheppard East LRT (In Design)

    Spadina won't be cancelled.

Metrolinx: Sheppard East LRT (In Design)

I know you were referring to zone fares here but to put it in a different context, when Mayor Ford and his brother started championing Scarborough for subways ("Scarborough deserves subways" & "You can't win without Scarborough") -- suddenly everything became about Scarborough.

Metrolinx: Sheppard East LRT (In Design)

And this is what bothers me the most! Even if Ford get's his "plan", which is the MOU -- they're still getting an LRT -- it's just underground! Same trains, same frequencies. I'm actually scared that the people of Scarborough feel that they're going to get an extensive system with the current...

DRL routing. Where would you put it?

Yup -- "the Flying U". It would've also made it easy for the current Bloor-Danforth line to be constructed if needed. Toronto could've killed two birds with one stone had it all come together like that. http://transit.toronto.on.ca/images/subway-5104-18.gif

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

But that's what I mean - I'm not sure how the businesses are going to be affected if your business has it's own parking lot that won't be disrupted by the ROW or construction. Are you saying that taking away one lane of traffic is going to impact the car flow into businesses? Honestly, I...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Are you sure about that? I mean, alot of these businesses on Finch are either in strip malls or are off the street (at least what I see from between Albion to Signet) and all have their own private parking lots. It's not like the businesses on St. Clair that relied on street parking.

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Not only that AoD - but "just like London or Paris" to build an efficient transit network using all technologies available (Subway, LRT/Tram/Bus.. etc).

    Transit City Plan

But the Eglinton line -- even in Rob Ford's "Undergound vision" wasn't going to to get any where near the airport and extending the current Sheppard Subway wasn't going to do the same either. Building 3 lines to enhance the network is a better way of spending $8.6 billion rather than putting...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Thanks for the comments guys, I made that map last summer and I am working on a new one. I will take those comments into consideration and make updates! Hopefully I can submit a bigger map as well. :p

    Transit City Plan

They were proposed but not funded. These are the projects that were approved and funded by the Province.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Your map is a little similar to mine - especially with the routing of the Sheppard line up to Finch and then across to Humber College. Here's mine -- I have a "Queen Line" - but it's essentially the street car at less "local" spacings. I would also imagine this Queen Line to be like Boston's...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

What I find funny is that North York and Scarborough are actually better served by the second option you mentioned. Even the "compromise" plan works better in their favour.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Certain Torontonians don't want tangibles though - it seems that anything that's different than what is already in Toronto seems weird and scary.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I know what you mean Tulse - but in everyone's mind when the phrase "St. Clair Streetcar" is said, they don't think of the positive impact that it has on the community now (because no one talks about it - in the media/press/social situations it's all about negativity) they think of the "mess"...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Of course! Look at the way they worded that question - no wonder it was voted 'a majority'. Again they used "like the St. Clair streetcar". It wouldn't be anything like the St. Clair streetcar!

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

However, those who are upset with the way the construction went will always remain loud and vocal and unfortunately they are always the ones who are listened to. They will always say "it took too long/they screwed it up!" without mentioning how well it functions now and how the community has...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I once waited for a Tram in Milan on cold January night - I had no problems with it. I waited with a bunch of local AC Milan fans who weren't bothered by it either - are you saying that Toronto deserves better than Milan? And Milan continues to build LRT/Tram lines. Also, the tram lines in...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

What I find interesting is that he named Scarborough residents as the ones that voted him in for that -- wouldn't it be funny if a sort of coalition of Scarborough residents came out and said that they want the new plan? That would stick in his craw.
