    Rob Ford's Toronto

Didn't Ford also say at one point that he wasn't going to go looking for "handouts" from the Federal and Provincial governments?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

To echo everyone else's statements, Mayor Ford's own stubbornness is his biggest downfall. It seems that if 'he doesn't believe in' or 'it's not his opinion' then it's the "be all and end all of decisions". It's hilarious to hear him say these things, yet the residents of these nieghbourhoods...

    Toronto The Fairbank | 29.03m | 7s | Oben Flats | superkül

I had to do a double take on this post.. :p It happens to be right where Caledonia station would be on Phase 1 of the LRT. The terminus for the Crosstown is Jane/Weston which is west of this site.

    TTC: Stations that Need Improvements

Ah! That's it.. I knew the covers were different but I couldn't put my finger on it. I actually like the fact that it's much brighter at Dupont - it really brings out that mural and makes the mezzanine shine through the glass overlook. Now, if they could only finish St. Andrew. :(

    832 College @ Ossington (?, 5s, ?) COMPLETE

It's moving, it's drawings are currently being prepared for permit submission at the end of the month. The rendering my friend drew up shows brick and stone as the finishes.

Can't we all just get along? The car, bicycle, skateboard, pedestrian et al debate

As a motorist myself, honestly, I would love to see a consistent re-education of drivers every few years - it's terrible seeing how people just do NOT CARE for ANYTHING on the road other than themselves. And it's getting tiresome seeing drivers not signalling, not checking their blind spots...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Transfer from the Green Line (streetcar) to the Orange Line (subway) at Park Street station in Boston. Then get back to me about "awful" transfers. It's the nature of public transit to transfer modes. I drive quite a bit and when I do use transit (more frequently I might add) I don't even...

    Vaughan Centro Square Condos & Shops | ?m | 33s | Liberty Development | Kirkor

Yeah I saw the signage that had the curtains printed on it, as if something were to be "unveiled". Here is the report from the "special" committee meeting that was held last week. It was a transportation study with regards to implementing transit and easing traffic around this already...

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

And it won't. In fact not much will be done by the time the subway opens.. maybe Expo City Phase 1 will be ready with Phase 2 not too far behind.. but there won't be much else.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

Doesn't need any corroboration, that rumor is correct. The master plan for downtown Vaughan doesn't show the Walmart, nor does it show the big Caterpillar complex just south of the station. A friend of mine, his design firm is in Vaughan, told me that was the exact same chatter that's been going...

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

Yes, but you have to start somewhere. I believe that identifying the "lower eastern" part of the DRL as a necessity can get the ball rolling on a multi-decade construction period. To simply present the DRL in full as you view it, could be deemed a "pie in the sky" and subsequently shelved...

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

I would think it's because the west end is served by the University line along with the Bathurst and Spadina streetcars. The whole point of the "DRL" is to provide relief to the Yonge line in hope of siphoning riders off at Pape to go downtown. The relief to the Yonge line is needed much more...

Metrolinx: Sheppard East LRT (In Design)

Steve Munro states that it will probably be "through routing" -- but it's treated as two separate projects:

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

Entirely true. Today on my way to work I saw the 165 Weston Road North bus that said it was going "to Steeles" -- it was going to Wilson Station and was already south of Steeles. :-P

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

What's the point of this though? The subway system isn't complex enough to warrant that kind of information. If you're on the Yonge line heading south to Union, you should know by now that the final destination is Downsview heading north. It's not like we have trains A through X going to...

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

Metrolinx: Sheppard East LRT (In Design)

Didn't know where to put this nor have I seen this posted anywhere on UT but Transit Toronto has pictures of a rough mock up (plywood and starboard) of the LRT cars. Upon first glance they are bigger and bulkier than the new streetcars. http://transit.toronto.on.ca/streetcar/4513.shtml

    Ontario Northland/Northern Ontario Transportation

It is, but he kind of has a point. There are many-a-people who don't actually use the F150 for their actual worth -- they are the same people who have a pair of molded testicles hanging from the trailer hitch for some apparent reason.

    Transit City Plan

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but it does look like Councillors are working together to build (at least in it's baby stages) a plan to expand the transit network for all of Toronto instead of "Scarborough deserves subways" and "DRL above all everything else". It's just...

    Transit City Plan

Cautiously optimistic with this turn of events.. even Josh Matlow's tweet. Perhaps Toronto is finally buying into sound transit planning and a transit system for all of Toronto instead of a "downtown v. suburbs" battle.
