    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I was suggesting 120 in GTA/other urban areas and 130 outside.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

If there are some deficiencies, they can be fixed with a relatively small investment (or with a reduced speed limit for a small stretch if we don't want to spend). It is very unlikely that you will have to stop from 130. Usually the prevailing conditions will slow down the traffic behind to some...

That goes without saying that the speed limit can be followed when the traffic volume is not too high. Otherwise we would be having a speed limit of 20 on Gardiner.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

There are several highways in US and elsewhere with much lower safety standards (narrow right shoulder, no left shoulder, short merging lanes, etc), yet much higher speed limits. Even 401 within GTA is good for 120 speed limit. All merging lanes are 300 m long with a few exceptions and there...

I didn't realize this building also has some twists.

Those lanes are shoulder lanes that double up as bus lane.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

I am not referring to Union but other stations that won't have double berthing.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

If GO trains are going to be mostly 4-5 cars long and unlikely to be 12 cars long, then why is Metrolinx spending money on upgrading the entire length of the stations?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I have been noticing daily delays on Milton line. Train arrives around 8:54 these days instead of scheduled time of 8:47.

275 sq. ft. for over half a million? I might as well live on the streets.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Fine. But then I need a subway station and a GO station right outside my house 😅

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If you consider the approx $30 billion price tag for GO RER early works and on-corr project, that comes about to $6 billion per line. Granted some of the amount is for Union expansion and not for the lines themselves. If Milton line is being electrified with 2WAD with addition of two new tracks...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Just 60,000 odd new riders from 15 km $15 billion subway line?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Of course talking about general public. You think an average person is so dumb that they can't tell it's a bus stop or a subway station until you slap a T logo on it?
  19. D

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

How does putting T logo help? People can see a subway station or a bus stop and realize it's transit. If they can't then adding a small T logo won't help either. What could help is the logo of the transit agencies and route numbers operated from that stop.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I suggest you stop complaining about Mississauga not getting enough transit and Scarborough getting a subway. This is probably the thousandth time you have said this and this is simply trolling. This won't get you better transit in Mississauga. Complain to the MPs instead instead of derailing...
