    Toronto Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto | 207.86m | 53s | Graywood | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Oh..That would be a cool feature. I'm sure between the four new luxury hotel/condo projects (five if you want to count Thompson's new property), you'll have some amazing features.

Banks can't win no matter what they do. How many employees do these banks employee at Bay Street/Toronto. Any idea of what the economic impact they have on Toronto?

Vancouver Sun: 'HST is good public policy'

I live south of the border (Buffalo area)...Is the HST tax basically a full sales tax (like the Fair Tax proposal being bounced around by some here in the US)?

Universal Health Care - Still Not Possible in US

Keith Olbermann is the Glenn Beck of the left. Take what he says with a grain of salt (Not I disagree or agree with Olbermann).

Universal Health Care - Still Not Possible in US

Combine the low pay (in comparsion with other doctors), debt load of medical school, the threat of being sued at all times (pushing insurance costs to high levels), and a payment system that is screwed-up (Medicare/Medicaid, along side the paperwork, doesn't make doctors to any money after the...

What does "underinsured" mean in the US?

I do agree with you on the cutting/banning marketing promotion. Just to note, the paents in the drug market usually don't last 20 years. Pharma companies will usually cut a deal when generic brands try to enter the market before it expires. It's not cheap to bring a drug to the market (and...

What does "underinsured" mean in the US?

I wonder if the reconciliation rules will pass the courts. I'm not a fan of the health care bill because it's not a "health care reform" bill at all.

TD Bank in the Northeastern USA (including New York)

Do any of the major banks in Canada have any real presence in outside of North America? If they can grow and maintain a strong balance sheet, it will have a reap huge economic/business benefits not just to Canada, but to Toronto.

TD Bank in the Northeastern USA (including New York)

Canada, as long as they can balance the books, employment laws/regulations, tax levels, and continue to pump out an educated workforce, is looking strong. Hasn't Tim Horton's always been a Canadian company?

    End of the recession?

Oil is fluxuating commodity. When the price of oil is high, it's a great boon to oil-producing regions. However, when it drops, it hurts. Houston smarten up after the last time oil drop big-time and diversified. I really don't know too much about the health care liabilities in Canada. How does...

M&T Bank here in Buffalo (a banking company that is among the U.S. 20 largest banking companies in terms of holdings, with more than 700 branches that the Mid-Atlantic region; and is a better-positioned bank in comparsion)? Would make for a nice U.S. headquarters with close proximity to...

TD Bank in the Northeastern USA (including New York)

I don't think the American crowd (me being one of them) is concern that it is foreigned. In fact, being a Canadian bank, with it's regulations and better-management, could work its advantage. Obama and the rest the world has been beating the drum of how Canada does it's banking/lending system...

What does "underinsured" mean in the US?

Spot on. A lot of doctors are retiring due to all of these factors. The problem with Medicare/Medicaid is that once you factor in the costs (overhead, staff, treatment, ect.), doctors either break even or lose money on this. This has to countered by charging higher fees to those with insurance...

What does "underinsured" mean in the US?

It sucks you had to go through that (going through it myself). Just to note, I don't think the stat for Southlake, TX is correct. Southlake is a very wealthy place.

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

Kind of stinks Calvin Klein Underwear (really, the underwear line?) is moving to Bloor Street. On those two spaces, didn't someone say that Dior and Dolce & Gabbana were looking hard for a space? Also, how big is the Burberry Bloor St. store?
