    Southbound Subway Slow Approaching Davisville

Problem to be fixed this year I just read Steve Munro's reply to a comment on his website. Steve says: "Replacement of the special work north of Davisville is in the 2008 Capital plan. I agree that this is a ridiculously long time for a slow order on a major route. This is the sort of thing...

Elimination of Wychwood Stops on St. Clair

Wychwood Stops Reinstated There will be stops at Wychwood Ave. in the new ROW. Joe Mihevc announced this back in February and it is mentioned in this flyer posted today on the city's website...

    Toronto St. Clair West Transit Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC

Thanks for the pics. Are these things supposed to be benches?? Each new platform has 2 of these things as well as the much lower seat under the sheltered portion. Their height and slope make them seem unsuitable for sitting on. They seem a bit of a hazard the way they jut out into the...

    Toronto St. Clair West Transit Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC

The new power conduits in St. Clair W Stn. are carrying power that was running in cables buried in the streetcar loop track bed. These buried cables were not in the as-built drawings for the staion and were run into last August when work began on the loop. Hence the 7 month delay in returning...

    Toronto St. Clair West Transit Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC

Rail delivery and welding for Bathurst is scheduled in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully by the time the tracks are ripped up the snow and salt will be gone. I guess some maintenance and cleaning will be done up at St. Clair. The 3 spare cares stored between Vaughan and Bathurst will have...

    Toronto St. Clair West Transit Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC

Progress on St. Clair ROW The old threads about St. Clair seem to have been abandoned so maybe it’s time to start a new one as we head into an intense period of construction activity. So the shelters on Phase 1 were finally installed. The steel cables that close in the area under the...

    Southbound Subway Slow Approaching Davisville

Switches I think the switches must be it, 299. I've never seen work actually being done here, but there must be a very low speed limit always in effect. Some drivers accelerate again just as they pull into the station. It seems odd, on the busiest subway line, that this problem isn't fixed...

    Southbound Subway Slow Approaching Davisville

This is probably a dumb question. I only use this part of the subway occasionally and usually in the evening. Southbound trains slow to a crawl as they approach Davisville. Anyone know why? Is this problem being worked on?

Elimination of Wychwood Stops on St. Clair

    What is the optimal stop spacing? I did a quick measure of the new stop intervals from Yonge to Caledonia: St. Clair Stn - 100m - Yonge (westbound only) - 320m - Deer Park - 290m - Avenue - 340m - Warren/Dunvegan - 200m - Russell Hill - 270m - Spadina - 190m - Tweedsmuir - 130m - St. Clair W...

Construction of the St. Clair ROW from Vaughan Rd. to Westmount Ave. is scheduled to begin next spring. The proposed design has been posted here: http://www.toronto.ca/wes/techservices/involved/transportation/st-clair_construction/cdcg/2007-12-12_presentation.pdf The stops at Wychwood Ave...
