AMC Yonge & Dundas opens at Toronto Life Square

Agreed. The only one out of the two theatres that I want to see [that I haven't seen months ago] is Be Kind Rewind. I'd go see Semi-Pro but only because Ryerson students get in free this weekend.

Toronto Discovery at Concord Park Place | ?m | 28s | Concord Adex | BDP Quadrangle

That concrete makes the subway station look so . . . unfinished. Maybe it represents the state of the Sheppard line in general?

    Union Station: Northwest PATH Expansion

Thanks! I'm the guy in the brown sweater. The mastermind is behind the camera, though. He's the one that made it look so professional.

    Union Station: Northwest PATH Expansion

http://youtube.com/watch?v=lzaLWoVtkZ8 Haha we had the same thought as you!

    Toronto Ryerson Image Centre | ?m | 5s | Ryerson University | Diamond Schmitt

It could potentially work, but the font is all wrong. Especially on the "Image Arts Building" sign, the letters are all caps and the font is way off.

    Ted Tyndorf RIP

Didn't it defeat the whole purpose of the greenbelt by leapfrogging development on the other side? I've always wondered why Ottawa allowed such things to happen when one of the purposes of a greenbelt is to contain growth.

    Ted Tyndorf RIP

Every Ryerson planning student on this board just shuddered. PS: Is there any truth to the rumour that he helped "plan" Kanata?

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

The big suspense, for me, will be waiting to see what Sheldon decides to put on those two big empty ad spaces facing Lake Devo! I really hope it isn't ads; maybe art from some students?

For the Record: how many Ryerson students here?

Since I've started following this forum, I've been stunned at all the references to Ryerson planning profs. How many of you are actually students or graduates of Ryerson's Planning program?

Crazy subway idea to serve Harbourfront

There certainly is something to be said for having a transfer-less subway link to the waterfront as a way of opening it up. Why not have both a stop at Union and at the waterfront? You could have half the trains travelling all the way to the waterfront, and the rest bypassing to stop at Union...

    Hakim Optical - Dundas Square

I also misspoke. The rumour that I heard was that a private company wanted to turn it into a residence, not Ryerson itself.

    Toronto Backstage On The Esplanade | 116.73m | 36s | Cityzen | P + S / IBI

Any word on a connection to PATH? Will the L Tower be connected to path?

    Hakim Optical - Dundas Square

I heard that it was being looked at to be converted to a Ryerson residence.

    Hakim Optical - Dundas Square

I walked by today and there were some new signs up; and the building is further along in demolition. One of the signs up was for an architect I think. I should go back and get some pics. . .

    Old building south of Sams

Mystery solved everyone! http://www.stratashoes.com/ They recently put makeshift little signs up so that UPS trucks could find the place.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

That's actually really sad. My nana had similar independence to what you described when she lived in Britannia, a neighbourhood on the northwestern edge of Ottawa. She was on the 17th floor of a condo (not an "adult lifestyle community", none of this elderly apartheid, just a plain old condo)...

Anything new at Downtown Markham? How's it going?

    New University...where should it go?

Although downtown Toronto has no trouble attracting people. Let's put it in a downtown that's not doing so well or that could use a boost; like WLU Brantford.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

aah! I hate to seem like a troll but the last thing they should be doing is building more parking. Park and Rides are obsolete, especially in light of the Province's policy goals of densification and greenhouse gas reduction. What they need to do is improve transit links to GO stations, build...

Metrolinx : $400M for TTC, GO and other transit

Yay!!! Two steps closer to a coherent regional rail system. Now Georgetown! So they're actually going ahead with Seaton? I thought that was shot down by the province or something? Isn't it in the greenbelt? I saw plans for Seaton once and it frustrated me so much; it looks like...
