Verve Condos (Tridel) - Real Estate -

These were taken on March 16th right after the St. Paddy's parade. Verve makes a nice addition to the skyline looking East from Bloor.

AMC Yonge & Dundas opens at Toronto Life Square

Went to catch the free movie there today...great sound and video quality in the cinemas! I wasn't happy with the very 80s looking red and yellow carpet though

They better, or I'm gonna be pissed!

Mosaic (736 Spadina s of Bloor, Greenco/Pinedale/Wycliffe, 20s, Northgrave Architect) COMPLETE

I walked by recently and noticed that two of the three retail spots beneath Mosaic are being readied. One has been taken by a "Sutherland-Chan" massage clinic, and the other by a three cent copy centre. All I can say for the latter is that I hate store signs with font that are done in...

Vancouver Surpasses Toronto and Montreal in City Brands Index

Yeah, but then again the first settlement in what is the Vancouver area was in the 1860s, and the city wasn't incorporated until 1886. The Toronto area was first settled in the 1790s and was incorporated as the Town of York sometime around then.

Regency Yorkville (Plazacorp/HiRise, 18s, Turner Fleischer) COMPLETE

It looks very drab because of the colour. The renders showed more interesting colours than this overwhelming nondescript white-grey thing.

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

While New York is internationally recognized as an exemplar of a great city, I highly doubt that every city uses NYC as some sort of standard to approximate its own development. I don't think cities like Paris or London feel as if they need to aspire to be a New York; they have an urban flair...

So really they just brought it back to the previous proposal...and replaced the egg with a screen. It's not awful...I mean I liked it before it began to be stripped of its interesting features

    Toronto Queen & Portland Loft & Condominium Residences | ?m | 9s | Tribute | Turner Fleischer

It's strange to have a home depot and bars like the Bovine and Funhaus within a block or two of each other...this development is quite a departure from the gritty feel of Queen St. between Spadina and Bathurst

THat's not true....look! Taken tonight...the ROM basking in a beautiful yet ominous blue-white glow courtesy of lights on the Hyatt.

Ah I see...that makes sense but I wish they would put some banners on them so they wouldn't look so awkward during the day.

Yeah it crossed my mind that they were primarily erected for surveillance purposes, but not all of the poles have cameras attached and they are truly eyesores!

    Toronto Royal Ontario Museum | ?m | ?s | Daniel Libeskind

I noticed today that there were several fat grey poles installed along the sidewalk on the ROM's north facade. One of them had a camera on it, and they all had some sort of integrated light...does anybody know what these are for? They will be very ugly if some flags or banners aren't going on them!

I hope this doesn't come acros as an uninformed question...but is there a possibility that Tedco still has enough funds to go along with this and therefore this decision to take away some funding will actually make the building SHITTIER?

    Bomb Hoax at the ROM

The artist mentioned that this was meant to demonstration "recontextualization", something about how the setting in which an object is placed in changes in meaning. I'm sorry, but is that something that you really have to demonstrate? I'm pretty sure that people would freak out anywhere you...
