I went to TLS today and a temporary (I hope) banner has been unfurled over where the Jack Astor's signage is in the renderings. A Jack Astor's sign and menu has been placed on the Victoria St. side, with an elevator that presumably leads to the 4th floor.
The decor of the restaurant looks...
Thanks for the clarification Metroman. As I didn't see this happen I'm not gonna pass judgment on it. I don't believe Jack Astor's is nearly "upper class"(I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not, urbandreamer) enough for them to kick out anyone wearing a baggy jacket and pants, so as for...
Thanks for your observations Metroman...I'm excited to make it down to TLS and check it out. As for these guys in hip hop attire, did they do something that justified the Jack Astor's people asking them to leave? Cuz if not, that just sounds discriminatory.
Does anyone know if that grey vertical cylindrical thing between the Koodo and Toronto Life Square ads right now will get colour or lighting like in some of the renderings?
I love BobBob's photo...what an interesting potpourri of roof designs! There's soldier's tower, university college, convocation hall, and the ROM looks like a stealth fighter!

Sorry, I'm not too familiar with Scarborough, but can someone comment on the appropriateness of using a Chinese name and what looks like marketing material for a condo in the area?
Thanks a lot Ziggy, that's beautiful. I wonder if the Union Staion upgrades will be able to cope with this kind of density, as it is ridiculously busy already!
Question: if many of the CBD's office towers could dim their lights or turn them off for Earth Hour, why don't they do it every night? It seems like a ridiculously simple thing to do, and it will also help to reduce light pollution and bird deaths
I could care less about whether AMC runs its movies with digital material or on 35mm. All I know is that when I watched August Rush there, I remember thinking that the projection was very crisp. I'm not a film projection guru, and my eyes are just fine.
A boycott because AMC is trying to...
