not so sure if it matters that they are on yonge street so much as that they are open like the village and area or not, i think it's important that it not only survives but thrives, so the more places that open or remain open the better

until any actual evidence points to it being a hate crime it's being treated as a random act of violence over something as stupid as the young fellows hand brushing against the side of their suv as they drove by him unfortunately random violence happens far too often in this city last year...

that's a question that has been floating around on various boards...i think a lot of it has to do with the power of the internet(word spread like wildfire on facebook and other sites) and also the fact that speculation is far out trumping the facts in this case and the number of people that are...

so does anyone actually know what's going in there? is it another gay bar......or is this all just speculation?

agreed...there was nothing to indicate this was a hate crime...just a senseless murder over something stupid that being said, if it brings comfort to his family and friends to hold a vigil so be it...

i wish establishments would be more transparent when it came closures people know the bar business is hit and miss and they realize there are obstacles to overcome so why not just come out and tell the public whats going on? if they truly do plan on re-opening you'd think that they would...

thanks for posting that...it's nice to hear some honesty coming from an establishment...now if crews/tango would only do the same :p whether you go to the place or not it's good to hear it's going to be staying put...interested to see how they handle the renos upstairs and where they're...

was walking up yonge street thursday night around 6:30 and saw someone coming out of remingtons...not sure if it's re-opened or if it was someone who has an interest in the premises just leaving...i didn't have time to investiage anyone hit the barn over the weekend? looks like they've made...

i think the biggest misconception is that the village represents the gay community and it doesn't...it's just a part of it, a small part of it, but it always gets the attention because it makes the most noise there are far more gays outside of the village than in it and the number that have...

remingtons new owners couldn't make a rent payment and decided to close shop rather than try and work something else out a little bird told me a current owner of several other gay establishments is toying with the idea of buying it yes, crews was closed for liquor license violations but...

i was talking to a friend about this the other day and we came to a rather scientific solution to the problem if you can walk to the water in under 10 minutes you live in the beaches if it takes you 10-20 minutes you're upper beaches anything more than that you lose your status ;)

very true, and now, at least for the time being, the city has lost it's only gay strip club when out of towners ask me where to go i struggle to tell them because the options are so limited...i usually end up asking why they came here instead of montreal :p more and more i find myself...
