Toronto Scotiabank North Tower at Bay Adelaide Centre | 140.2m | 32s | Brookfield | KPMB

Since we're on the subject, does anyone know anything re: the plan and timing for the pedestrianization of Temperance Street?

    Toronto Daniels Waterfront - City of the Arts | 156.05m | 45s | Daniels | RAW Design

I've seen similar comments re: the pedestrian mews being lacklustre or under-utilized, and I think it's mistaken personally. Only a small fraction of the people that will live in the area are currently there (wait until Sugar Wharf 1 + 2, One Yonge, Quay House, Lakeside open, along with the...

    Toronto St Lawrence Centre Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | CreateTO | Hariri Pontarini

Wow, they're not messing around here. Love it. Sounds like they want to close the portion of Scott Street between the Centre and Meridian Hall (the southern portion of the street needs to remain open to vehicles due to parking garage access of the condo and Meridian Hall, but can still reduce...

Sheraton Centre (123 Queen West, new windows & exterior repairs)

Yeah the ground level here is absolutely embarrassing for such a prominent location. Need to tear down and rebuild that whole retail section IMO, and ideally shift the underground parking entrance elsewhere.

    Toronto U of T: Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre (Phase 1) | 64.8m | 13s | U of T | Weiss/Manfredi

I just caught myself audibly moaning while looking at those pictures.

    Toronto Aquavista at Bayside | 46.94m | 13s | Tridel | Arquitectonica

Looks like there is movement on the retail here. Walked by recently and Gong Cha Canada has indeed moved into one of the retail units (under construction still), and the leasing brochure now lists the large retail unit under Aquavista as "Under Negotiation" (whereas it simply said "Unavailable"...

    Toronto PJ Condos | 156.96m | 48s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I imagine one has to pay extra for such a prime view of the finest dining in the city.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Was walking by today and noticed something...you can really see the delaminating of the balcony cladding. Wow, glad this happened and was caught now. How does this even happen?

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Saw a truck full of the balcony glass driving away from the site yesterday. It all looked very carefully secured. Perhaps they're shipping it off site to be fixed and then returning it, rather than actually throwing it away and replacing it with new glass?

Toronto New Park at 229 Richmond West | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | Gow Hastings

These changes are great. However, on a general note I wish we started viewing underground parking as a 1:1 replacement for street parking. If there were underground parking here and we could replace the nearby street parking with wider sidewalks, that'd be a worthwhile tradeoff in my view. The...

    Toronto 55 Mercer | 155.5m | 47s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

That's quite interesting actually re: 12 hour days. Can you clarify what 7-7 vs. 7-3 means for a layperson?

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Looks beautiful. Though have we not learned from QQW to have curbs separating the bikelane and sidewalk yet?

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

I hope there isn't an extension of Harbour Street to Jarvis personally - would prefer another pedestrian mews like the Daniels block has.

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The fact the $25 million would come from a specific donor suggests the money can't just be re-purposed. But in any event, I love the idea of the Art Walk. Public art can be the difference between it being just another park and being a destination. My one thing is that I generally dislike...

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

That's just when the court documents were filed. It actually sounds like the threat was made not long after Mizrahi told Apple the space would be delayed, which was over a year ago in December 2020: The fact that Mizrahi has gone to court to stop Apple from leaving suggests this was (or, more...

    Toronto Rail Deck District | 227.23m | 70s | Craft Dev Corp | Sweeny &Co

If this development is indeed happening, then I think the following should be the guiding light: the City's ambitions for a rail deck park should be moved westward, to create a park over the rails between Bathurst and the Garrison Point area. this development should have parkland arranged...

    Toronto Q Tower | 197.4m | 59s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

I'm genuinely confused about the economics of this. The site was marketed as being suited for two towers of 55 and 45 stories. It was bought for $100 million. The original proposal was for 95,000 residential GFA. This is for 60,000 residential GFA. Does that imply the site was sold for less than...

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 299m | 90s | Menkes | a—A

I posted above about a Toronto Star story saying the school was expected to open in 2024. I figured the 2024 date was just some old info the reporter had taken. But lo' and behold, just saw this post from Menkes on the instagram post linked above. This means they expect the podium to be built...

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

Agreed. I know this will sound crazy, but how great would it have been to have one of the colours be the cotton candy pink that was used in the marketing? Would be a showstopper. (Though might have to change the other colours to make it work - maybe white, pink, and navy blue.)

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 299m | 90s | Menkes | a—A

Article in the Star today saying announcement coming from Province for $44 million in funding for the elementary school to be built in the base. Interestingly, it also says the school "is expected to open in 2024" 👀
