Not so much of an extension is needed - but some consolidation. Right now it looks like a pair of ol' rabbit ears were plopped on top. Absolutely no sense of style for what they portray to be a signature building.

I can vouch for Puerta Vallarta as well. Was there a year ago - stayed at the Barcello resort (La Jolla de Mismaloya) which is about a 10mins taxi ride into town. + Puerta Vallarta has a more authentic mexican city/town feel then sterile Cancun + For some reason I preferred the night-life...

I don't understand. If the city is writing the check, don't they have a sway in regards to design. This smells of incompetence and indifference.

Doesn't the structure seems kind of fragile for a high-rise? How good is that hollow concrete floor as a sound insulator...

Finnaly! The car wash and 1-story plaza with that dumpy donut shop will be history. Wow, that area going to look drastically different in a few years time. That area was due for a huge transformation; miss living there since I moved last June.

I love everything about this development - should have purchased a unit pre-construction. Breaks away from the 'toronto-box', the use of dark glazing, and the attention to details such as the false glazing on the west wall. Imagine these beauties built on the site of RoCP...with the same hight.

What's so 'tacky' about a casino? From a revenue perspective, a lucrative proposition for the city. In addition, a casino along the waterfront/portlands area will draw a constant volume of people to the area - would definitely kick start things into high gear in the vicinity.

These aren't just simply manufacturing jobs, but highly specialized engineering / design jobs that are unfortunately lacking in Toronto. Instead of constantly bending over backwards for the auto sector, we should at least show some initiative to attract these type of industries.
