    Street Canvassers

I'm sick and tired of these people bugging me nearly everyday to and from work and frequently on weekends when I'm out wandering about. Given where I live and where I work it's nearly impossible to avoid them. I usually try to avoid them and am frequently surprised to see them show up on lesser...

Spate of Pedestrian Deaths in GTA

Agreed but common sense says human versus vehicle, vehicle wins... all the time. So as a pedestrian most of the time (I'm also a motorist, cyclist, and rollerblader), I am going to do my best to avoid being hit. I'm going to watch the intersections carefully, be extremely careful jaywalking and...

The hole is deeper. That's it. No pouring of concrete yet.

Furniture Shopping -- The Good and The Bad

There's a vintage furniture place on Queen W, south side just west of Bathurst. The name escapes me at the moment. Lots of funky stuff in there. *EDIT* Morba is the name. Thanks to avatarreb for the link: http://www.designlinesmagazine.com/guide/guide_detail.php?cat=617&id=753

    Condo soundproofing

At my previous apartment I had one neighbour who's girlfriend was a screamer. Yes, great fun having to listen to that when you're single and not getting much action at the time. I would slam a phone book against the wall as hard as I could. Most of the time they'd stop abruptly but other...

    Condo soundproofing

I've been in a condo where the walls were just drywall and you can hear EVERYTHING even down to a casual conversation. Awful. My current condo does have concrete walls (watched it being built) and the soundproofing is pretty good on normal noise usually hearing muffled noise if at all. My...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

Because I think it's rude to consider the shared amenities as mine when it's collectively ours and I'm not going to treat the amenities like my condo. Hudson has a gym, steam rooms (unfortunately gender separate), patio with BBQ, event room, pool table room, media room and a large lobby with...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

When the prices for Charlie were published I compared my unit at the Hudson with a similar unit at Charlie. For a ~550 sq ft unit on the same floor with a parking space and an extra locker, Charlie was about $100,000 more. For once I'm glad that my previous landlord jacked the rent up so much...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

I don't treat nor consider the amenities as an extension of my unit. Use of them varies throughout the year and we are generally light users.

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

Thanks. I've seen those and they're not what I want. I don't like the scissor lift and I need the top to be glass with foldable sides. I want this: http://www.ideamagazine.net/en/cont/cm0407n/05jv.htm Combined with this: http://www.hydradesigns.com With some further tweaks.

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

You must have the Joni Mitchell. I've got the Peggy Lee which is a similar size and layout. I decided on Peggy due to the bigger closet in the bedroom. I wish I had the option of eliminating the balcony so I would have an actual dining area. We got a three seater couch which makes for a tight...

Perhaps then he should concentrate on that rather than being a grammar nazi on something so small.

Based off of how things went with Hudson, you'll be picking out the finishes when the building is nearly complete. I think we were 6-9 months from occupation when we got to select our finishes. Other Hudson owners can correct me if I'm wrong. As for the view, based off of our view you'll be...

    Toronto Four Eleven King Condominiums | 149.04m | 45s | Great Gulf | KPMB

No mystery caverns. I walked all over Manhattan never using the subway. Unless the sun was directly overhead during 11am-2pm, I found I was almost always in the shadow of a building. It was actually quite a relief when I came upon the occasional small park which opened up the immediate area...

I'm in agreement. I've been to NYC three times. The first time was quite a shock. The lack of sun was a little depressing. That being said, I still want my seven story LCBO at King & Spadina rather than a single story one.

Mid-teens. With all the windows closed you can still easily hear streetcars turning and when they thunder down the track. As I said previously, it doesn't really bother me that much but if the noise went away I wouldn't complain. :)

Yeah... Our view basically becomes nil though on the positive side Charlie will block a lot of the streetcar noise as they bomb along King St. The noise doesn't really bother me but I'm trying to find positives for Charlie going up. :) The worst thing is will be the early morning construction...
