Steve has enough money to stay afloat until things get better. I don't believe he's in any trouble. http://www.calgaryherald.com/business/fp/much+room/1737395/story.html

This was Dave Toors property. GE Capital pulled financing midway through. Dave got into some trouble with his Hilton Garden Inn Airport taht he was building as the economy went sour, and had to sell it to Steve Gupta.

The economy is still taking a nose dive, granted. Honestly festival tower at $550 per/sqft would be a decent price. $650 is alittle steep. But its got location, so steep it is. Developer has cash, tons of it. I bet they can sit on this one and not budge prices. $1000/sqft... no chance, not in...

What so special about office buildings? So all you can have is people in suits working during the day jamming up the sidewalks and streets, and completely dead at night. No thanks.

I project there will be a change, provided retail space is developed alongside new developments for retailers to move into.

$42 is absurd, but if the demand is there... 30 seems more appropriate

Yup. do you expect rich people jetting in for a couple of days to take the Subway. They'll be taking car from either airport. Celebs already stay at the soho metropolitan, and now they'll have trump, shangri-la and ritz to choose from also, Not to mention Tiff focus will be at metro hall and...

Its around 20-30 dollars for valet parking at most hotels overnight, Marriott, Sheraton, and Westin Harbour at least. This is should be around the same I assume. I wouldn't be surprised if it is valet only at the trump.

It's a shame shangri-la pulled out of chicago. Toronto is rising up indeed.

King west is going to be the place to be. Imagine all the celebs that will be coming here. Yorkville is too difficult to get to. I think the Entertainment district will replace yorkville as the trendiest spot in toronto.

I wonder what colour of slabs they're gonna put up on the south side of the building now that they've reached the residential floors.

There's a Mcdonalds/Tim Hortons/Subway and Dry cleaners, (Foodcourt) on the other side of wellington just underground. Edit: Or Burger King or whatever, don't recall them exactly

Another example of "trying to blend in" style instead rather than "trying to stand out" style. I'd perfer if buildings were tyring to stand out from surrounding buildings, instead of using the same coloured cladding as buildings built in the 80's.
