The heritage building to the north of 197 yonge/massey tower now has a Commercial "For Lease" sign on it… oh and the Irish flag is gone and it looks like the pigeon crap has been cleaned up somewhat from the property's steps.

It's actually really not that bad in person, and much better than the derelict condition it was in before. This development is on overall plus for the area and the city, imho. Not to mention, I'm sure there has been MUCH worse than that in this city.

The "monoliths" that were in place previously were just temporary holders... they have now installed the permanent art fixtures which are much taller and larger than the previous shells that were in their place. Last night they were testing the lighting on them as well - looks like they will be...

I'm guessing you haven't been in the area at all lately because these apartments have actually gone an extensive renovation with reclad and new balcony glass! 100% better than that garbage in the google pic.

the coloured glass on the north east corner of the base.. goes about 12 stories or so up the north side of the tower…. very visible in the rendering. not so much in real life

the coloured glass in the rendering is not going in on the north side of the building. clear glass installed instead... not surprised.

Just like the "bottle caps" at absolute world... don't hold your breath. I don't think it's that disasterous, though. The real disappointment is the loss of the white bands at the MPH.

there is a good view of BAC east next to its older brother in the levi's store at the bay... the glass between the two is noticeably different.... BAC East being the nicer IMO

oddly there is a considerable amount of advertising for these buildings on posters in TTC stations... at least from what I have seen.

there's also now white ceiling tiles in the same area
