    Toronto L-Tower | 204.82m | 58s | Cityzen | Daniel Libeskind

Funny! I am a bit of an "exclamation point" enthusiast. Never-the-less, IMO any project breaking ground after the past year deserves an exclamation point. True.. It has NOT broken ground yet, but as per the Principal of Cityzen, it will be breaking next week. So... lets keep out fingers...

The L-Tower is starting construction the week of October 12 2009. Posted it here. M

    Toronto Residences at the RCMI Condos | 134.72m | 42s | Tribute | Zeidler

With regards to your comment: ""it has never been heard of to assume a 90% + public transit modal split" If the developer is willing to take the risk regarding the parking question, why would City Planning interfere? It sounds like it is not a "planning" issue, but a developer/building...

    Toronto Residences at the RCMI Condos | 134.72m | 42s | Tribute | Zeidler

Why do you think it represents poor City Planning? The way I see it, the proposed project is in proximity to multiple public transportation routes, good nearby grocery shopping (Longos and The Kitchen Table), near multiple places of employment and in close proximity to multiple amenities...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

No. I currently own, and am quite happy. However, I am always interested in hearing what other people are looking for in a condominium. I find amenity spaces extremely interesting, as there is a wide variety of types of amenities in buildings, and I often find myself wondering if there is any...

    Condos with outdoor pools?

Cool list. Out of curiosity, does anyone here live in a condominium with an outdoor pool? Does it get used? Would you consider it a main selling feature? My condominium has an amazing rooftop common amenity space where people love to hangout in the summertime, and I definitely would...

Furniture Shopping -- The Good and The Bad

Does anyone have any Toronto experiences to share with furniture shopping? I always seem to end up at GH Johnston Trading Company (950 Dupont Street), and I ALWAYS walk away amazed how how well they can sell and at how poorly the deliver on their goods. I recently purchased some...

    Toronto Living Shangri-La Toronto | 214.57m | 66s | Westbank | James Cheng

In any event, I am sure it will be secured! My point was more on the randomness of it in the rendering. I think the building looks pretty awesome, but almost lopsided with that tree.

    Toronto Living Shangri-La Toronto | 214.57m | 66s | Westbank | James Cheng

I get worried if I see a person on the top of a building, and there is no railing. Same goes for a tree. Actually, I think a tree falling from the top of a building could do more damage than a person falling.

    Cedarvale

I hope not, but the Cedarvale fair has all that!

The Tree on the top right side of the rendering looks a bit out-of-place... looks like it is about to jump off.

    Cedarvale

I just drove through Cedarvale, and noticed that the Cedarvale Park (not ravine) is undergoing some major renovations. Wow.. A piece of my childhood, changing again.

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

Why not? Does your building have good amenities? I am always curious about amenity space, and the amount that people use the common space (excluding workout facilities and rooftop patios). For example, buildings with "screening rooms", and billiards rooms, and bowling alleys, and...

If you could change one thing about Toronto, what would it be?

Huh? Haven't you seen the millions of posts on Yonge and Bloor? That is, in fact, the centre of the universe! And, it seems that everyone on UrbanToronto thinks they are the puppet-masters!!

If you could change one thing about Toronto, what would it be?

My building has no fours in it what-so-ever.. no 4th floor, no 14th floor, no units with the number 4. Also, no 13. Maybe all buildings should have an 88th floor (skip all numbers to ensure 88 is in it!).

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

Here is a question: For people living in units around the 500 SF mark, how often do you use the building amenities? As condominiums have more extensive amenities, I would imagine that people in smaller units would treat the amenities as extensions of their actual units. Anyone?

If you could change one thing about Toronto, what would it be?

Three things: (i) Congestion charging; (ii) Some cool European squares, with high density housing and retail surrounding the square; and, (iii) Some pedestrian streets in the summer. Oh, here are some other things that I just thought of... - New York style awnings, going from...
