    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Of course I'd love to do the same with 5707, having it in my possession on my own property would be even better than having to go somewhere to see it. But unfortunately in my circumstances it's likely a non-starter. You spelled "hypocrite" wrong but ok. Do you actually have them, or were you...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Sure, the same way you and others are related to the G-cars. They may not have smelled like moisture, but I hope you enjoyed inhaling all the carcinogenic brake dust;) You travel to Czechoslovakia like at least once a year, so probably whenever you feel like it. But what difference does that...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Well, advocating that they save everything else (least of all the very things that replaced them and sent them to scrap) is not gonna right that wrong, is it? Quite the opposite actually. Any future generations for whom it would be a "disservice" to not save anything that came later would just...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I couldn't care less if it's spiteful, it's the only fair thing to do now, there is NOTHING more spiteful and more of a disservice than turning around and saving everything else that came afterwards, none of which is in ANY way more special and worthy of saving than those cars that weren't...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Yet plenty of brand new modern trains around the world still have center poles, like this one in Warsaw (and right infront of the doorways no less). In fact, it was the older 81-717s that lacked center poles before the newer trains came in with them. But the Hawkers are to blame here, got it...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Supposed to be 2029/2030 – 2033 (55 replacements), and up to 2035 for the rest of the fleet if contract is awarded this year.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Before worrying about redesigning the new trains, shouldn't they be more concerned about securing funding first? Have the feds finally stepped up? Interesting how this is not a concern in NYC, where they went back to full longitudinal seating ever since they went back from 75' to 60' cars on...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Unfortunately I don't remember. You mean like holes in the ceiling patched up with small pieces of plastic matching the ceiling color?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Agree, though the updated one looks somewhat like a 81-775. Edit: more like a 81-765 actually. I don't hate them (or the T1s) per se (aside from the fact that they replaced the Hawkers), but I hate the idea of either ending up getting preserved, adding insult to injury on top of replacing the...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

No, the Hawkers ofc, of which only 5707 and 8 or so H4s still exist.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Of course, every museum in the world has every piece of Toronto equipment. Except one set of pieces. That too, yes. A nice idea, but neither the Gs nor the T1s are compatible with anything else. If they don't keep any remaining H4s that are in vaguely preservable condition (even as work cars)...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

What on Earth does Montreal or other museums have to do with it? That makes as much sense as asking New York to save a TTC streetcar/subway (which of course they didn't do when the cars were in Buffalo, even though I suggested the idea to them).

The CLRVs have returned to service? 😅

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Thank you. I hate when dt dwellers who can't see past the tip of their nose (aka Bloor street) attack suburban neighborhoods for being "uninhabitable hellscapes" / "inhuman wastelands" or whatever, when many of them are in fact much nicer to spend time in than old toronto (not to mention much...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Jheez, I sure hope they're not seriously considering building the east & west extensions as separate lines using separate rolling stock (especially the west extension to Shw & Wilson yard). Either extend the existing damn line or don't bother at all. This trend of building every new line...

Well, that's a whole other problem...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I was downtown yesterday and saw a couple of these posters, the choice of pink font almost makes it seem like it's supposed to represent line 3's color, and I gotta say I'd even prefer that over the purple (but I still think blue wins hands down).

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I'm confused. You're advocating cut & cover because it can be built faster, yet you're saying you don't want it to be built within the next 10 years?

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Then they really shouldn't have taken over local transit and stuck with the regional GO network, as that's where their policy makes at least some sense.
