    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Why would the City want to take on the risk of turning a bus operator into an LRT operator.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I'd be curious to know whether they'll actually shift the use of this property for either the construction staging or the actual tunnel start of the 401 tunnel. I'm curious to see an early 30% design concept of how they plan on doing it, what with the existing Islington bridge and Resource Rd...

    Parliament Streetcar

Didn't put much thought into it...maybe above ground crossing Bloor but using the existing intersection light...red to everyone while a streetcar passes though.

    Parliament Streetcar

That Line 2 covered bridge might need some lifecycle work coming up...stack an LRT track on top of it running into the station. yes, I know that's pretty-hair-brained, but avoids issues with Bloor and partially re-uses infrastructure.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

Other than SSE, our next stations on DRL will mostly be in dense areas, so they will have little surface land area (they've talked about mined stations) so we probably won't be seeing anything grand. Only ones might be Gerrard (replacing a strip mall) or West Harbour (incorporated into First...

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

    I prefer 'Decision-based fact making'.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

It pains me to hear a suggestion that we should be doing grade separation for the "perception of rapid transit". Because we have nothing else that $500M couldn't be spent on. Its like the request to tunnel the Barrie line overpass....that price tag worked out to approximately $700k PER...

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

Looks to me that by building H new around the back of G, they've decided to hold off on investing in a large pier for G but at the same time are future-proofing to eventually do it.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Two possibilities for Bolton. The first is what was identified in the last report, that actually proposed sending it across Steeles and down the Barrie Line to take advantage of more track space compared to Kitchener within the City limits. Second that has been floated is a shuttle service to...

    Moose Rail (National Capital Region)

No, from the context of the discussion, she meant outside of transit agencies as well.

Am currently at the Toronto Region Board of Trade’s Transporation Summit, and Canadian Infrastructure Bank chair Janice Fukakusa just emphasized that the Bank will be keen to to take in non-government unsolicited proposals for major infrastructure projects.

I know nothing has been ANNOUNCED, but I imagine (or would hope) someone must have all of these long-list of projects where work has already begun blocked out on a calendar somewhere to see where they MIGHT fit in existing revenue sources.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Pretty sure the City has some major debt ceiling issues in 2019-2021 doesn't it? Might preclude taking something on this early. Also likely phasing of funds from other orders of governments...Metrolinx has probably parsed out its money in the nearer term for Hamilton and Hurontario.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Same surprise here. I grew up in the area....really, grade separation is needed at Royal York or Scarlett? Above ground grade seperation makes some more sense at Jane or Islington because the road dips at those intersections (or at least at Jane it'll be coming out of the hillside).

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Couldn't you achieve this by slotting an extra lane going the opposite direction to the 27 NBL to Eg. EBL ramp (under the 27 NBL to Eg. WBL ramp) and then marrying it to the proposed 401 EBL to 27 NBL loop?

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Nice to see them talking about only to 30% design...historically they'd give a contract for all design, and a Design-Bid-Build would be a foregone conclusion. Going to 30% is basically what you'd need if you decide to go Design-Build-Finance (DBF) or tack on Operate or Maintain (DBFO, DBFM...

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

In my old life when we built the TBMs for Crosstown, there was a plan to actually send 2 of the 4 machines to Sheppard LRT first, with the intention of quickly digging new tunnels from Don Mills under the 404, then shift the TBMs down to Eglinton on the shorter tunnel section east of Yonge...

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

If it was REALLY about a transfer, there are more cost effective ways to fix the Kennedy terminus than spend an extra $2B on switching to a subway (and losing multiple stops in the process).

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I think it was mentioned recently in the York Off-ramp thread, but this will be replaced with eastbound Lake Shore lanes once the curve from Harbour is removed and the Jarvis offramp is shortened (like York) to touch down at Yonge.
