    Toronto The Berczy | 41.76m | 13s | Concert | Arcadis

I suppose it's a combination of cheapness and design aesthetics (which I'll concede is subjective to a point). I appreciate that they didn't make the ground floor a long expanse of glass, but the material and layout they went with is probably worse. White precast screams off-the-shelf and...

    Toronto The Berczy | 41.76m | 13s | Concert | Arcadis

Everyone hates the upper half... I think it's going to be the ground floor that's the true disappointment. Low ceilings and cheap precast panels. Hurray!

    Toronto 300 Front Street West | 156.05m | 49s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

Is this a design element by Tridel? If not I doubt we'd be so lucky to have such a coincidence.

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

Cannot be unseen. Pretty interesting interpretation, I like it. See below. I'm surprised it took so many replies for someone to point this out. Even at 80 storeys, what would one guess the pricing would be for such "extravagance" when combined with the location, $900psf? $1000psf? The...

    Toronto Ripley's Aquarium of Canada | 13.11m | 2s | Ripley Entertainment | B+H

Some hate the coloured glass, some hate all the grey. No pleasing everyone it seems. As for the greenery, are the planters even filled yet?

    Toronto Backstage On The Esplanade | 116.73m | 36s | Cityzen | P + S / IBI

There are plenty of underground streams in this city, you don't need to be near the lake to have water issues.

Toronto The Yards at Fort York | ?m | 28s | Onni Group | Wallman Architects COMPLETE

I imagine it will be quite the feeling driving along this stretch once this is completed. With the two halves similar in scale (at the point of the expressway) and identical in materials, it'll be like driving through the middle of a single structure.

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

^ I'm quite certain they are one in the same.

Toronto The Code Condos | 30.48m | 9s | BLVD Developments | Hariri Pontarini COMPLETE

Well now it's only 9, with less units. Pleasing NIMBY constituents is typically job #1 for Matlow.

Member for four and a half years and just had your first post. Anyways, welcome to UT. Let us know what the turn out is like.

    Toronto Ripley's Aquarium of Canada | 13.11m | 2s | Ripley Entertainment | B+H

Your expectations of the CBC are much too high.

Toronto The Milan Condominium | ?m | 37s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects COMPLETE

In regards to "slapped together" I think the only thing apparent from your photos is that the whole thing is pretty dirty. Not saying it's built to high standards, but from what I can see it's hard to claim it's terrible workmanship. Now as for design and materials, that's another story.

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

The only thing they've built in Toronto is Crystal Blu, and I don't think anyone would refer to that as a "breath of fresh air". Sure the designs for E condos and Exhibit look nice, but lets wait till those are built before heaping praise. They're no MOD or Cityzen.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT: Fairbank Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Daoust Lestage

Wouldn't it be more appropriate if all these new threads for the LRT stations were in "Transportation and Infrastructure"? Just a thought.

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

Karen Stintz would likely throw her hat in the ring no? That's probably where I would lean (self-identified conservative). I suspect she'd garner a lot of the conservative vote after Ford is put out to pasture. On topic, this essentially rests with council right? Ottawa and the TPA would...

    Toronto Bathurst College Centre | ?m | 4s | RioCan | Turner Fleischer

Hahaha I some how don't see this happening. Gets you all excited for the massive "upscale" retail development Riocan has planned for Front and Spadina, doesn't it!

"Ethnic Food" debate (from Bay Adelaide P&C thread)

This debate is a waste of bandwidth.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT: Cedarvale Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | NORR

Thanks for that, good to know! I guess we can expect something around 2025 then. /sarcasm

    Toronto YC Condos -- Yonge at College | 198.42m | 62s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

To be entirely fair, if we're judging the worthiness of a building based on materials, Aura is using a decent amount of curtain wall. Not that it looks particularly good.
