Too bad it will be looking like the way it is. Lets be honest, for Toronto's first supertall, this is below mediocre, especially compared to the mirvish towers. Let's just hope the design is changed enough for us to not even recognize these first renderings. Atleast it will make Aura look like a...

Great pictures thecharioteer! I don't actually have huge hopes for this project. The design itself is OK but if that cladding isn't amazing, this one will be a bust. Some renders look great, some don't, and usually we get the worse looking render.

Eaton centre should be covered with mirrors, then we won't have to look at it. I don't what these changes will bring, but it better not be just some cheap glass.

I agree... its very strange for this to have started and not know what it will actually look like. Unless these renders are hiding somewhere.

This design reminds me quite a bit of the original design for 10 york, which basically was a box with a play on the facade. I remember a lot of people preferred that box to the current design of 10 york. I don't understand the hate on this tower when so many people enjoyed that box. Personally...

You can say that again. Art is nice and all but don't just force it into the most unnecessary places. The text itself is great to look at.

Why is that a surprise? Has happened many times before, and its all based off the renders, so nothing incredibly off topic here.

That was the runner up for the design competition though wasn't it? I would much rather have that then what's been described so far.

Will the trees be as mature as the ones in the video? It won't be that bad if they do... only negative being that it may block the ROM itself from some views. If they plant them while they're still young and provide no cover, that'll be pretty stupid.

I can't believe you just bumped this thread just to say that... And I can't believe that I just learned Google uses goats to mow their lawns too.

Lets just hope its not a taller version of 45 grenoble except clad in unattractive, low quality glass.

I dont mind if it does look "busy". I think in this case more really is MORE. The whole thing is a vision and a dream made real and that is what it looks like. At the end of the day, this is going to be one complicated but a really amazing addition to Toronto. I don't think anyone should worry...

I've tried so hard to like this damn thing and yet I haven't succeeded. I'll still try until it is done but the top truly is a disaster which makes the whole thing even worse. If you're going to make a shitty building then design a shitty building. If you're going to make part of a building...

Lol you guys are taking this skateboard damage thing way too seriously. First of all, though it looks like it there aren't many skateboarding features here other than handrails and the green islands. There aren't any bowls or curves or much of anything that would make one actually go down there...

    Toronto 2221 Yonge Condos | 192.62m | 58s | Tower Hill | Pei Partnership

Pathetic. Whoever designed this should be arrested and be put in a padded room that has a picture of this building on the walls. When he finally see's his idiocy, he can have his sentence shortened by 3 years. Honestly, are those air conditioner units side by side or is that a balcony? And...

How they could even manage to begin designing such buildings, god knows.

I'm worried about how this meets the street in the render. Looks like what I would expect while passing a parking garage while walking on the intersection shown in the new render :/ The grand curved entrance doesn't do much to help.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Hm the main tower and the tower immediately to the the right look amazing. The tower immediately to the left looks promising. But the building immediately to the left of the Toronto Star building looks horrid. It's just a glass box and what's worse, a glass box with shoddy cladding. Obviously...
