Looks like the steelwork on the right of that first image is nearly at its final height (the lower of the two halves). Maybe one floor short?

There are a number of things tenants will pay for. Location will always be one. A building with a clear identity also attracts a premium, if it isn’t compromised in other ways as a result. Not always something a commercial client knows how to do. That’s one way in which good architects earn...

Also... if we’re all on here wishing it was taller, it can’t be turning out that badly right?

Agree with those who suggest a different glass in the central ‘groove’ would’ve been a good touch. I’m sure there were reasons why not though. I wonder too if we’ve all spent too long looking at the diamond glass now. I want to see the lobby glass and the crown at the top emerge. If theyre as...

Again though - what happens during construction won't be the same as in use. Hence my pondering about where it was falling from. There was a picture a few pages back with snow on the glass. That glazing is right now sat with cold on both sides, I would imagine that it would be less likely for...

Where was it falling from? Do you know? I mean the building’s cold until it’s occupied I guess so it could be from anywhere, or was it the crane for example?

I was assuming the podium was to the side of the tower, similar to Phase 1. I'm fairly sure I recollect too that the second phase tower was subject to overshadowing restrictions, so I'm not expecting any height increases for the tower. It would be nice though I agree.

That would suggest a slight height increase for the podium, not the tower.

Shouldn’t change during the day. I’d hope the lights won’t be on inside then. At night, you can’t read the diamonds anyway - well depends how those little spotlights will work I guess

Depends. Maybe it’s the only one that’s right! That would take much longer to fix!

Now now :D Beautiful pics though MBurr. Especially the 4th one. The reflections are definitely the thing. The facades are going to have many moods!

The success of the lighting will also depend on what they can do to control the office lighting behind. I wonder if they'll be able to dim, or control at least the internal perimeter lighting. I suspect there will a bit of tinkering on site to get it right as it's a subtle art. It wants to give...

The conversation about what's special about this project is an interesting one. It's of course subjective so no-one is obliged to love them. I'm with those who ask what's not to like however... As a rule I don't like towers that 'try too hard' with crazy shapes. Dubai is full of these and they...

Kind of matches the building too :) As for National Benzole... just been looking at that courtesy of Google. Love the 1930s advertising - a completely naked man with a winged helmet suggestively holding a petrol pump, in front of glamorous 1930s ladies looking shocked and uttering the line "Oh...

I see too that there's a finer grain of metalwork going on to the canopy. Could we be seeing glass there soon too do you think? I wonder if they'll wait until the risk of mess from construction above falling onto it has decreased?

Looking forward to the diamonds climbing higher to get the first sunset reflections too. I think the downtown core hides the glass from the sunset at the moment.

ld imagine just steel at the very top. Seems to be what the renders show.
