Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

Is an alliance with another airline really the way to go here? Is this really a goal for Porter? Does their longevity depend on it? I just don't think so. Perhaps I am in the minority, but I love Porter for the boutique experience and the simple short haul flights. Knowing that Porter was...

Speculating about a new start at 1 Bloor East

^Was it ever proposed for Toronto?

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

True enough, but to quote Veronika Belovich, Bazis's director sales and marketing, "This is a junky corner." (I wonder whatever happened to her.) And I think, much like the L-Tower (did we forget about that project already?), once 1 Bloor is also blugeoned most of us will lose interest in...

    Toronto Casa | 147.52m | 46s | Cresford | a—A

Great progress. The frames are being erected for the 4 floor high wall of glass. Looks permanent. I'd prefer it they were frameless too, but I'm not sure of the structural issues with this. The stairs to the 2nd level of the lobby are being constructed. Looks like the rim of Casa's hat...

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

Well, of course no one wants a gravel lot, including myself, but, well, here we are. I didn't say Roy Square was devoid of value but I did say that it was "a painted over alley with cheap white lawn chairs". No matter how special it was to many people, Yonge and Bloor deserved better and...

Galleria Mall at Dufferin and Davenport is also a viable employment block. Would it be ok if that were simply transplanted as is at this location, nicotine stained ceilings and all? And yes, the TIFF suggestion is a great one.

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

I understand how many have a soft spot for Roy's Square (a favourite restaurant owner or dry cleaner or whatever) but it was still nothing more than a painted over alley with cheap white lawn chairs. I'm not sure that it was "better than nothing". I prefer to see a blank canvas here once again.

Actually it does look wider. Is the brim of the hat supposed to extend beyond the frame of the building? Wouldn't that present hazards such as icicles falling straight down onto the amenities level, for example?

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

Condo's ill wind city's salvation Scaled-back plan could save Yonge-Bloor tower A Kazakhstan-backed developer has staved off receivership proceedings with a last-minute deal to pay off a defaulted $46 million loan on land at Toronto's Yonge-Bloor intersection. Jul 21, 2009 04:30 AM...

Photos were taken from the Bloor/Dovercourt area. I'm not certain but I would imagine that the crane is for Cube Lofts in Little Italy.

Hmm. It's been like this for more than a week. I'm beginning to think dventura and archetype are correct in their assessment that this is where the rim of the hat will rest. It just seems like the height between the 46th floor's ceiling and the rim of the hat should be considerably higher than...

Condo Critic: Offices, condos complete transformation Though it's a bulky building, the Glas condominium seems smaller than it is and makes sense in taking advantage of existing infrastructure. Jul 18, 2009 04:30 AM CHRISTOPHER HUME The transformation of King and Spadina is all...

I said, "perhaps". Nonetheless, this totally sucks.

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

This is awful. Bazis certainly comes across rather slimy here. Wasn't there a now-banned member who was warning of this exact thing? Perhaps UT owes him an apology.
