Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

    Not entirely but close ;)

Vancouver also does this, as do some other places where high frequencies are operated, this way you don't block outbound trains with trains pulling into the terminal half the time. Allows for higher frequencies.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I mean yeah, kind of weak arguments tho Also can we just have fare integration everywhere lol Yeah its nuts, it should take 5 years to do even pretty large projects - ala Vancouver, Sydney etc. Theres no reasons the Libs couldn't have gotten WAY more done

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If only there were a mode that was between a subway and "light rail", a sort of light subway or light metro you might say. I do not really get why everyone thinks light metro supporters (if they can be called that) want ICTS, why can't we have the Canada Line, or Copenhagen Metro, or REM tech...

Why build light rail when you could just run more buses? If we need speed and capacity clearly some form of metro is logical. Bit of an odd argument, how many subways do you see running on embedded track down medians.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I hate to burst bubbles but the LRT will be worse for many riders. Most trips aren't ending or beginning in DT Brampton, this is just going to force transfers. But ey, if it runs on rails it must be better . . .

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Having access to tools like Google Maps etc. isn't really a good reason to have bad wayfinding. Plenty of cities have better app coverage AND better wayfinding than Toronto. I forget, are they using the same bad TTC faregates? It's not a funding issue - changing signs etc. is obviously...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

I get the O-Train has it's issues, but I still feel like we ought to acknowledge more just how quickly the system is getting built out. Once they get their serious hats on and run it properly it will be a great system.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Well I see the UP being last to be converted, it would require station mods most likely and the trains are still quite new (but they are bad). If they wait as long as possible its probably best - though I'd love to see new trains as much as the next person - just hopefully less ugly ones.

    TTC: Easier Access Phase III

Which is what I was asking, clearly the lift which is literally in the video thumbnail exists lol

    TTC: Easier Access Phase III

This would be neat, has anyone confirmed it?

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I have to agree, rail direct to the terminals is probably better no matter what. Having to take a crappy people mover for the last leg sucks. The US just changed their rules regarding bringing trains directly to the airport and they are cheering it, and we want to move in the direction of more...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Clearly you don't understand the math here? The tunnel can cost $200 million to rebuild and the cars can be built for $500 million ish, there you go $700 million vs. the over billion dollar cost of the LRT? Adding elevators is not going to cost on the order of 100's of millions. Which as we...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Also rail attracts more riders, especially in a city with a transit culture like Toronto's. Plus Line 5 will speed up a lot of trips, just mainly in the west . . .

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Why is everything a race to the bottom. Other cities can be bad all they want, I just want us to do better in Toronto.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

The tiny tunnel could be replaced or we could just buy cars with the same profile - this was all in my post . . . Replacing the SRT with an LRT is again a bad idea . . .you'd have to rebuild the tunnel and far more, Vancouver does SkyTrain extensions for the same price we do LRT extensions -...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

You should visit Switzerland Sydney has long run 8 car sets, Melbourne has long run 6. The new HCMT's in Melb are unique as they are 7 interconnected cars, the newer Sydney sets are 8 interconnected cars (used to be 2 4 car emus)...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Hmm, the problem with LRT is that when it runs on the street its not all that much better than a bus. If you want local transit to be better than just put paint on the road and you get most of the benefits of an "LRT" at much lower cost. I am going to do something a little wild here and propose...
