It seems people's idea of "cooperation" is just doing what the folks wanting a subway buried under a rail corridor want. As if the cost would be low, 4 tracks is more than enough for GO There were lots of criticisms community members had with the DRL, I think people are seeing the...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Most of the design including the hybrid nature was on the city - interestingly though, I don't see any good reason that if they desired it the whole thing couldn't have been on the surface, the street isn't THAT narrow

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

LRT is part of the problem, it's a technology that makes sense in completely different contexts from where we are using it in Toronto and mark my words - we will know our mistake when Eglinton opens!

Wow, these grassroots activists have a surprising number of capabilities! Greenwood was designed to be overbuilt. It's not a good site for OL The problem I think is less Metrolinx and more demanding that a community gets tons of extra benefits on top of a higher order transit line (you're...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Wow, streetcars travelling 15kph down suburban streets sound like a dream!

    Toronto U of T: Robarts Library Renovations & Robarts Common | ?m | ?s | U of T | Diamond Schmitt

Honestly don't know what I was expecting but walked by the other day and this thing is tiny. Def won't resolve the space crunch on Campus

Tokyo Smoke is literally on every corner. Empress Walk and Fairview are even getting them!

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

The inside has a not-entirely--functional signaling system atm, when that's sorted out some will probably be gone

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I actually think Montreal does this even better, this almost airport like style of Bus terminal as seen at the Yellow Line Terminus would be amazing for some large suburban GO Stations.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

    I'll take the point that they've highlighted all the surrounding parking as a sign . . . . .

I really think the idea of doing this is oversold, using Greenwood raises at least as many issues as it solves, such as site layout, replacement, connection to the yard and on and on.

Who's coming to the area around Union? In what locations?

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Downtown Stations will be busy, having more space at ground level is good. Also rooms etc. above ground rather than below is a good thing that should be encouraged, it saves cost. (NY put massive offices underground on Second Ave Subway which is part of the cost) Space seems appropriate...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Basic is fine, focus on extreme starchitect designed stuff when we don't have a massive shortfall of coverage, and the TYSSE shows what happens in Toronto when you aim higher too . . . Good public realm being tied to stations is probably not a good direction, we need to create frameworks such...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

One or two additional stops on a faster train does not make it a milk run. There's a reason regional rail systems tend to have a load splitting station or two on the edge of the core. Nobody is asking for 5 extra stops in the 905 which would actually not be useful. Not everyone's final...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Just because something exists doesn't mean it's optimal . . . You seem to fundamentally not understand what is being proposed (a mostly minor amendment to an eventual extension) which is something that uses spare capacity to improve connectivity at low cost. It's just the nirvana fallacy...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

The sense I get is that by then with GO operating RER style, you can expect a decent number alighting from OL trains to travel to Union on GO, remember Southcore and the areas directly North of Union are major employment centers

Also because it's Aus with fantastic weather, and this line is *checks notes* 3km long . . .

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Less than the maximum number of tph means exactly this, Sheppard trains would come in between Spadina ones. That's how interlining works. Anyways . . . +
