The population of Hamilton increased by about 17% during that time, with most of the growth around the edges of the city which are underserved by transit.
Here are some pictures of the bus loop and the 60 completed parking spots. It sounds like route 12 will start serving Confederation GO on November 2. This is great news if you travel between Burlington and Niagara because this should get rid of the painfully roundabout current routing...
Yeah, no doubt. I'm sceptical about how well used this station will be given how long it takes trains to go around Lake Ontario through Hamilton. I'd think many people would still prefer to park at Burlington GO to save time.
"He said the station’s revised design, which will be tendered out...

I'm very pleased with the service changes. Saturday and evening express bus service are the first signs of gearing up service in anticipation of LRT. In addition to Delta (Gage Park) , they are also adding stops at Wellington and Melrose (Scott Park); all three of which will be LRT stops.
Here is the APTA ridership each month from October 2018 to March 2019 in millions: 5.612, 5.605, 4.935, 11.936, 11.576, 14.530. Did ridership really triple from December to March? Not sure what's going on with their numbers.
It's a trade off; either an extra 50 metre street crossing for pedestrians, or one extra intersection for the LRT vehicle to have to pass through. If the line is planned to extend north (and will have to cross Steeles anyways) puting the platform on the north side is a no-brainer.
I haven't found anything myself although 2019 does not seem likely to me. Service will likely be the same 2 trips per direction per day as West Harbour and then the existing Route 12 GO bus between Burlington and Niagara.
To be fair, pretty much the only true-BRT (with dedicated lanes) currently open is on Highway 7 East in Markham and it opened in 2013–14. The Highway 7 West BRT towards Vaughan is scheduled to open by the end of 2019, so maybe that will spur development. The Richmond Hill portion of Yonge St...
Sure, BRT would be a huge improvement but when LRT can be had for $75M/km, I think you have to go with that. Even if you make a BRT that's technically as good as LRT in terms of moving large numbers of people in as little time, it just doesn't bring the same level of ridership increase and...
Wow, that looks amazing. Riding the King bus in Hamilton now is so loud and bumpy. If anything, Hamilton LRT will be slightly smoother because it's pretty much a straight shot across the city compared to Ion and its frequent turns. It is nice that we can point to Waterloo when people ask what...
