I'm happy to report that GO has adjusted their fares (or at least updated their website) for trips between Hamilton and Guelph/Waterloo on Route 17. When I checked earlier in the week, this trip was showing as $20+ with Presto and $25+ with cash!

I think they just stopped updating the map which is unfortunate. The last time I checked the website before the redesign, it was the December 2019 map so I don't think there is a newer one.

That's too bad. It seemed like it was imminent just a few months ago but has now been downgraded to "over the next few years". At 1h15 minutes to Hamilton, and 2h20 to Union, the weekday Niagara Falls train will remain as "token service" just like London.

I'm not crazy about the need for the LRT to have a GO connection right away. It would be nice to have and I wish there was an easy connection point but for now I think the city is wise to build the full B-Line route which will be the transit trunk for the whole city. Hopefully when all-day GO...

It's about a 5–7 minute walk from the James Street stop to the GO Centre. Maybe up to 10 minutes including the time to get up to platform level and if you have bad luck with the traffic signals. There were plans to streetscape Hughson Street to make the connection more pedestrian friendly but...
